Hi my name is Scott.  I have both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.  I have had psoriasis for 41 years and psoriatic arthritis for about 19 years.  I am currently in search of a new med to treat my psoriatic arthritis.  I was on Enbrel for about 15 years but it stopped working.  Since then I have tried Humira, Stelara, Otezla (Apremilast) and methotrexate, but nothing has seemed to work for me.  Once I clear up a few insurance issues I hope to try Cosentyx.  If anyone has experience with Cosentyx and Psoriatic Arthritis I would be interested in hearing about it.  My psoriasis is currently almost clear but the Psoriatic Arthritis has me almost fully disabled.

I look forward to meeting many of you.

Hello Scott and  Welcome to our little club.
I'm afraid I am going to be no use to you as I am only just embarking on the systemic route, but I have no doubt some of the Big Hitters on the forum will be able to offer some sage advice ( once they wake up  Big Grin ) .

Big Grin

Hello Scott  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

I like you, could be looking to move onto Cosentyx (still undecided yet) and I too would like to know what others think of it for psoriatic arthritis.

We do have a few members that have started threads, unfortunately most seem to forget to come back and give us an update so we can only assume it's working and they are happy with the result.

Have a look at these threads:
Brand's new journey on Cosentyx
Cosentyx - There might be hope for me yet...
My Cosentyx journey begins
Cosentyx - Week 1....and beyond....
anyone using cosentyx?

You are very welcome to post in those threads to see if you can wake any of them up.

And you can also start a new thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis asking others opinions if you wish.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi Scott and welcome  Welcome to the forum I am also a long term sufferer of this awful disease without the arthritic aspect of it .... Although I'm being tested for that now.

You have come to a great place to discuss the disease and the various treatments, as Fred has said we have members on the treatment you want to try Cosentyx, but as is the way with forums people come for answers get relief, and don't keep us updated which is a shame as the information is of great interest to others

I have been lucky enough to avoid biologicals so far but it's nice to have them in reserve....but I hope you can get Cosentyx and look forward to hearing more from you how it works on your crippling psoriatic arthritis  Blush
I look forward to meeting you on the various boards on the forum and maybe even in the off topic section that is always welcoming ....
Good luck and I hope you can get some relief from he pain and hope you will get some help from our members   Thumb

Welcome Scott!

I'm not fully awake yet as I've just started my first cup of coffee. Glad you've found this forum as it's a great place for information and meeting people who truly understand. I don't have psoriatic arthritis nor have I used Cosentyx, so I'm not much help. I do look forward to following your journey.

Hi Scott and welcome to the forum, you will find everyone on here very friendly though some are barmy some of us are very serious. It's a great site that is populated by people who care and have the same problems so any answers that you get will be from experience not theory .
All the best and just muck in.
Dave
