Hi all, just wondering if anyone has been offered this drug yet or currently using? I've been offered by my derm and doing a bit of research before I make the decision.
On stellara since April. Doing fantastic on my skin nearly 100 percent clear but have had more joint problems. Joints that have never swelled before are swelling for week 2 after an injection till about week 7 to 8. Next injection is week 12 Not getting much in between. Anyone else any experience with this on stellara? Does it get better maybe if stay with stellara? Another side effect is contant upper respiratory infection that I can't clear and from what I have so far the cosentyx has the same side effect, has any anyone also had any experience of this?
Thanks in advance for any advise Smile

Hi and welcome back I've just had a look and it seems we have a few members in Cosentyx, sadly few have posted threads but Angel has posted one here
Cosentyx - Week 1....and beyond....
I'm not sure if any other posts but you could try the search facility at the top of the page if you type in Cosentyx it should list every post that mentions it

I hope that helps

I have been told I may be able to go onto it in January (The French always wait to see how it is going for others before committing themselves, but that's another story) but at the moment due to other probably unrelated problems I have to wait and see.

I have had moments when Stelara hasn't been so good for psoriatic arthritis, but at the moment I'm thinking I will see how it goes with the other problems and how I get through the winter before deciding to go on to Cosentyx. Stelara can be a bit up and down for psoriatic arthritis but I'm finding since upping my does to 90mg because I'm at 95kg it is doing better.

I've not had any upper respiratory infections that I could put down to any of the Bio's, but yes it is something to watch out for on all of them. So if you are getting them on Stelara I would imagine it will be the same on Cosentyx, but the only way to find out is to try it and see.

If you want to research Cosentyx further Jim is right a search (available to members only) will bring you in a lot of results, and I do always post the latest news on all prescribed treatments so a regular log-in and check will help.

Hi Fred,
I had read some of your stellara journey when i starting mine, it's a pity it has all the ups and downs as when it works it works very well doesn't it.
Maybe the upper respiratory thing would have happened anyway but I suppose as with all these treatments everyone has different reactions to each treatment.
My derm has a small few people on cosentyx currently he said so hopefully soon we can all have a bit more experience from people who have used it
Thanks and good luck with the change over if that is what you are going to do

You're welcome I had a good teacher in Fred, in my early days here pointing me at different buttons and showing me how to get the best out of the forum.
Now the least I can do is pass these hints on if I'm online Thumb

I use to be on Stelara, but now on Cosentyx. Stelara did very little to nothing for my back and did so so for hands and feet. Consentyx is stable for the back, but doesn't help much for hands and feet. Also, my dermotologist says that Cosentyx hasn't work all that for psorasis with patients who are overweight. He says there is a small trial for larger dose.
