Sorry to tell you but starting  smoking again  won't get rid of the psoriasis. You have it now and it needs controlling . And the only real way to get it under control is to talk to a dermatologist and get treated....
I can almost guarantee that starting smoking won't help and after being off cigarettes for so long. It would be a shame to take it up again thinking it might help

Psoriasis is a strange disease we have all struggled for many years to (a) find a reason and (b) find a cure
I'm now 68 and was a smoker for most of my younger years, I have started and stopped many times. With absolutely no effect on my psoriasis
But recent advances make it possible to control psoriasis and get remission from it. I have been clear for 4 years on my treatment.

I don't want to lecture you about smoking.... I just don't do that, it's entirely up to you how you treat your body, I can only tell of my experience
If you do anything try patches but ideally don't make yourself vulnerable to worse diseases than psoriasis.... Oh sh**  I'm sorry it turned into a lecture

I have another (alternative) advice.
Besides going to the derm, go to a sport school and start spinning class. Hold on for at least 5 weeks two times a week. After that you are either addicted to the good feeling afterwards and you certainly don't want to spoil that by smoking or it just didn't work for you. But then it still makes it a good experience and perhaps will teach you something about your body. Big Grin

And Jim is right on the steady increase of good treatments.

Nope Nicotine is a member of the nightshade family of plants (Solanaceae) and is said to be bad for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

It's possible like Turnedlight said that giving up smoking put you through a stressful situation and that is why it came out. Personally I would say don't waste your time trying to work out why you have it, but accept you have it and work with a dermatologist to find something that can help you control it.

Good luck with the mountain a Mole hill is my limit.  Run

Ye its 26 miles from Caernarfon up and down snowdon. Don't worry I won't be smoking again. If I can beat snowdon then psoriasis should be a pice of cake. Healthy eating at the moment is killing me could murder a vanilla slice???
