hi everyone first i want to say thankyou for letting me become a member very much appreiciate it.
Im saz i am 39 years old im from Scotland and i live with my 3 teenagers 2 girls 15 n 17 and my son 18 i first developed phsorisis at 18 which has always been pretty bad but at age 30 i was diagnosed with phsoratic arthritis too i was having photo therapy until last week but i developed a horrendous sunburn like rash so treatment is on hold until skin biopsy n blood results come back which is a shame as it really was making a big improvement to my phsorisis.
Anyway im really glad i have found a place to talk to people who dont think im contagious and keep me at arms distance lol look forward to getting to know you all have a great day guys Smile

Well hi Saz and a big Welcome to the forum, you have come to the right place for great advice and support,
We are a small very friendly group of individuals from around the world with one thing in common psoriasis and/ or PSA
You will find you are not regarded as a leper here we all talk freely of our condition and I am still learning about the condition, fortunately my psoriasis is clear at the moment and has been for a couple of years now. There is a wealth of information here to arm yourself with before you next see your dermatologist. I would ask him about the various other treatments that are available such as the biologicals which are very successful, or my treatment which is Fumaderm and is available through hospitals in the UK
Do enjoy your stay with us and work your way through the treatment threads, and for some light relief come over to the off topic section ( just be careful in there as there is some naughty stuff there but you aren't compelled to look)
I hope you will keep us updated on your progress and come back often

Hi Saz. Welcome. Yes there are many who have psoriasis and PsA. Photo therapy has worked for me over years. I hope the burning subsides quickly. Kind regards SLM

Hello Saz,
You are surely welcome to the forum.
There is a lot to discover in the forum. Much has been written by all different members on how they cope with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis.
If you have questions or want an opinion on something, just ask. There will always be someone with a view on things.
Off course all views stem from the personal experiences, but gradually we reach common grounds on treatments and on approach of our disease.

Take care in the Off Topic section. Sometimes it seems if there are sensible people running around over there, but I have my serious doubts about that.

Have fun!
Caroline

Hello Saz Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

You don't have to thank us for allowing you to be a member as it's obvious you're genuine, nice intro by the way.

The trouble with you getting Psoriatic Arthritis too is that the photo therapy won't be able to help, so it's now time to start looking at something else. Now they have taken a biopsy and blood tests, I would suggest you start reading through what options there are available so you can go armed with the info. A good place to start would be the first threads here: Prescribed Treatments though they will probably start you on Methotrexate.

Whatever happens you will find a good bunch of people here willing to share and offer support, so don't hesitate to shout out. Also you're welcome to start your own thread and keep it updated about your treatment if you wish, you will find some members do this as it helps to keep everything in one place should you need to refer back, plus it will also be helping others.

We're looking forward to getting to know you too, and if you do venture into the [Group Specific] board you will find I'm the only sensible one there. There are also other boards, and more will open up as you go along but I won't spoil it for you.

Enjoy being with us and please keep us updated.

Regards.

Fred.
