So if some of you were following my aloe vera and vitamins thread, you will know I decided to go back onto medication and tomorrow was when I'm due to talk to them about it. I have now been off medication for about 8 weeks, and my psoriasis has now..calmed down significantly Huh I have had no new pustules appearing on my feet for a good while, my psoriasis on my stomach has cleared and the legs are clearing up as well, and I've only been using double base and some other creams now and again on my feet.

I'm now considering just getting some more creams tomorrow and continuing with them to see if I still stay clear as my crohns and arthritis is doing ok at the moment, so I don't need any medication for them. I'm guessing all the different medications that has been pushed around my body over the past few years were just making everything worse!

Great that it is going very well with you Amanda !

That you have Crohn also points me again on the relation between the several auto immune diseases.

Keep going well.

Sometimes getting past treatments out of your system can take time so you could still be having some results, having said that it may be beneficial to get past treatments out of your system sort of like a detox so that could be helping. And also like you said some treatments especially a cocktail can actually make it worse.

My advice would be just stick with the creams if it's not to bad and you can cope with it, you're still young so there is plenty of time to go onto the stronger stuff again. Plus Summer helps, not only for the sunshine but the feel good factor too.  Cool

Good luck at the dermatologist.  Thumb

It's good to know that you are managing without the medications.....and that  creams and doublebase moisturiser is keeping it under control , I'm sure your dermatologist will be as pleased as you are that the psoriasis is staying under with little or no treatment,
He will be aware, as you are that it could strike again, although I hope it stays fairly clear on just creams for you
. I would ask when you are seeing him if he will keep lines open in case you have a sudden flare and don't want to wait months for an appointment , try to have a plan B in place and just be prepared .

Good luck I hope the visit goes well, I'm sure you will let us know the outcome

Carole, I strongly agree that their is a link as well. More and more evidence is coming out to support all thse auto immune conditions being linked

Seen the professor, he was really good and we both agreed on creams and he let me decide which ones I wanted. I've went with Epiderm and Dovobet for the moment Smile He wants to see me in 10 weeks and said I can contact beforehand if needed

Yeah it's a specialised clinic in glasgow I go to as my old dermatologist admitted she had run out of options. I liked the fact I got to have a say in my treatment rather than just being handed a bunch of creams. It makes me feel in more control and more involved in my treatment
