I was a teenager, probably around 16 or so, when I developed psoriasis. My skin would crack and bleed on my fingers, palms and wrist when I got stressed, no idea what it was though. I didn't get diagnosed until I was 19, which is when I had my first breakout. I was cleared for 6 years before it came back, and it hasn't cleared since.

Some will say different, but in my opinion it's always there waiting. One consultation we can take from it is that it can affect anyone at any time in their life so no one is immune.

It's not until you have it that you realise how many people suffer from it. I didn't know that it ran in my family until a couple of years ago. My grandad still gets it, and he just turned 80 last year. It's a sucky condition to have!

Yes cc it is a terrible condition which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. But it is something most of us sufferers have cspent most of our lives hiding it from the general public.... How I wish there was a place like this when I was younger. As I find it helps so much to know others going through the same thing and able to share our experiences .. It hit me in my teens and I have chased it all my life

Ouch that is young, do you think it helped getting it so young in respect of living with it or did it still hold your social life back as you reached adulthood?

I think it definitely helped. I was never too self concious about it until I was around 18 when it started getting really bad and I was wanting to go out clubbing and look good. |
