Hi all!
Hi kyprincess!
Fred, hijack any time!
You have a good point with parabens..... maybe I'll stop using it?
Now Mrs Andy is researching that too.
I have psoriasis bad on my scalp.
The mg217 does not help there at all.
Not for me anyway. .... I agree research any product and make a very informed decision.
(Ahem, more informed than me at any rate)
I always try a small test area first. Just a thought.
What does work on the scalp for many is a soak in the tub with oatmeal.
(I have not tried it yet) but I'm told that putting about 2 cups of oatmeal in a nylon sock
(To contain the mess) in warm bath water works very well for some people.
Maybe I'll try it this week?

hey! I really am loving all the welcomes and input, gives me some more hope.
Andy.

@Kat & @Jim Like I said each to their own. I wouldn't entertain a diet of green juice to help psoriasis yet some say it works, but I try to avoid as many chemicals as I can (especially ones that are known to be bad for you) To me a cream or shampoo containing paprabens can be substituted with something that doesn't I use Cadum products and they work just as well in my opinion.

As you can see Andy, we all have different opinions on Psoriasis Club but me manage to get our points across to each other without any arguments. That's what makes it the friendly place it is, we can disagree but we will always support one another.  Smile

As for the Oatmeal thing yes it does help, here they give you Wheat Starch baths if you have to go in (not so messy as Oats). I had a week of them and they were fantastic, makes your skin feel all soft and soothed.

I also have a Water Softener and they are very good, I would recommend anyone to get one if you have hard water. They make your skin soft, your cloths are soft, you use less soap, it keeps your washing machine & dishwasher free from lime scale, and the added bonus of making life a lot easier in cleaning the shower.

And yep there is hope, you can live with it. But it may take time to find what works for you, and there will always be setbacks as you have it for life. But if you get real desperate Jim will always give you a Man Hug. 85

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

I do enjoy that we can all share our views on treatments, the good, the bad, etc. I just know that as miserable as I was with the scalp itching, I would have tried just about anything to see if it worked while waiting for the medicine and light therapy to start clearing it up.

Oh I agree about getting so far that you would try anything, but after trying so many things for 35 years you start to look harder at what you are trying. (Not only for what's in it, but also the efficacy of the product)

Oh and you forgot the Ugly in your statement, maybe next months competition "The Ugliest Psoriasis Treatment"  s29

Hiya, there is a colleague of mine and they have a small patch of P on the top of their foot( don't care where you have it or how much you have it P is a B) and putting a handful of oates in the foot of a pair of tights worked great for them...after soaking in the bath with it for a while they would rub it over their foot...it never goes though.  I did talk to them about me and my P and decided that there wasn't a pair of tights big enough to put a field of oates in !!!  lol

But I do believe it works better on stubborn, smaller patches.

Anything and everything is worth a go
