Hello,
I'm Andy. I'm 44, live in Minnesota, USA.
I've had psoriasis since I was 30. (OK. It was on my head as a child, but I didn't know what it was. )
I found out about 4 years ago I have psoriatic arthritis.
If I recall correctly over 80 % of my spine.
I also have degenerative disk disorder.
Ha, and Add, and aspergers (that is technically undiagnosed, but I have taken several tests
and I score very high, and a clinical diagnosis won't do anything so, I assume I likely
have it.)
I'm going in soon to discuss treatment for psoriasis. It's spread wildly in the past few months,
from my elbows to total scalp, eyes and nose, ears, face, groin..
Anyway, I work everyday, I am married (2nd) to a wonderful woman.
I'm fairly quiet, I like to be alone. I love comics and cartoons, animals, anything that makes me laugh.
I guess I tend to be negative, I'm working on that. ... I wife to live in a happy home.
OK. I feel I am rambling.
So, hello! Nice to meet you all.
Andy.

Good morning Andy and  Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you found your way here, it's a very friendly supportive club we have and as you have probably seen it is very active and the health boards are constantly being updated, I hope you will enjoy your time with us . Here you will find we all have the same problems and support and help each other through the bad times and we still come back even when we have no change in the disease. I find its a great place to learn what works and doesn't work for people. Psoriasis is a strange disease and reading through the introductions proves that there isn't a one treatment suits all. But there is treatment that will work for you. Learn from the health boards what is available and come back and ask questions there is usually someone with an answer
I think psoriasis tended to make me a loner as I would rather be alone than getting close to people and getting sympathetic looks ...... That all changed for me with the treatment in on which changed my life.
Mine isn't available in America but the biologicals are read up on them and try to get on one of those
I wish you good luck and God health
Jim

Hi jiml,
Thanks for the reply and encouragement!
I have been nosing around, and I think you all seem like a great bunch.
And I really appreciate the warm welcome.
I will do my best to share what I can, and be as kind as all of you seem to be.
This really is a horrible condition to have,
But it's nice to have someone to talk to about it.
I'm off to bed.
Thank you again.

Hi Andy ,welcome to the site, I have found it great with a rare set of inmates who are all friendly and do not bite.
It is good to have someone to talk to who have the same problems and who are able to know what you are going through .
Just completed my 90mg Stelara injections so I am also going for a lie down .
Take care David

Hello Andy Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

You can ramble if you want, we don't mind and sometimes it can help.

If you're going to be discussing your options for psoriasis, I would suggest you ask about the Bio treatments. They will soon get the psoriasis clear as well as help with psoriatic arthritis, leaving you free to get your other problems sorted.

This thread explains all about the Bio treatments: Biological Treatments For Psoriasis

Like the others said, you will find us a friendly bunch of people and the spammers, trolls, & bullies get shown the door very quickly so don't hesitate to dive on in and ramble away.

Regards.

Fred.

Welcome Andy and nice to meet you!

Lots of information here that can help when you talk to the doctor about treatments. This is a nice safe place where you can just be yourself which is a major reason why I like it here.

Hello and welcome to the club! My suggestion is do some research on biologics; they are the only medication on the market in US that works for psoriasis and axial symptoms of PsA.

Wave
Thank you all!
I will talk to my doctor about biologics. Sounds like a great place to start.
I am excited to get this into remission or at least to lessen a little.
I have never really tried to cover up my psoriasis, and it surprises me how often someone
Comments on my skin and asks what I have tried, because they have it too.
My wonderful wife is so supportive and researches and investigates with me.
Diet, stress, hydration and attitude are what I have focused on so far.
Although. ..... I am scatterbrained so I tend to forget for a while. Especially if my psoriasis
Isn't flaring up.
Hopefully the right meds will clear me up so that the PA does not hurt as much, and so I don't feel
So self conscious.
OK. Again thank you all for the great welcome!
I really hope to get to know you all.
And I hope that I can pass on any help I find.
Andy.
