Oh!
David, mg217 (sorry it's 217 not 27) is a line of products for psoriasis.
I use a lotion that contains salycitic acid, and an ointment that is coal tar
It helps, but is no cure.
You are in the UK?
I don't know of it is sold there, maybe ebay or Amazon?
It's not too expensive.
And it works best after a bath or shower.

Thank you all!
I will talk to my doctor about biologics. Sounds like a great place to start.
I am excited to get this into remission or at least to lessen a little.
I have never really tried to cover up my psoriasis,  and it surprises me how often someone
Comments on my skin and asks what I have tried, because they have it too.
My wonderful wife is so supportive and researches and investigates with me.
Diet,  stress,  hydration and attitude are what I have focused on so far.
Although. ..... I am scatterbrained so I tend to forget for a while.  Especially if my psoriasis
Isn't flaring up.
Hopefully the right meds will clear me up so that the PA does not hurt as much, and so I don't feel
So self conscious.
OK.  Again thank you all for the great welcome!
I really hope to get to know you all.
And I hope that I can pass on any help I find.
Andy.

Andy I think it will be a wise decision and one you won't regret the bio drugs will usually give fairly fast relief and should arrest the PSA and slow or stop the joint damage.... I would say the sooner the better
you are lucky to have a supportive wife that's a big plus she sounds like a gem

She really is.
She makes the bad days bearable, the good days better.
I will post back with news from the doctor.
Take care!

Sorry it was me mentioned the gun as I googled it and saw a picture of a machine gun Big Grin
Just looked at mg217 looks ok either salicylic acid based or coal tar,.... I haven't seen them over here in England but I'm sure if we wanted we could order online
If my psoriasis ever comes back it's always nice to know of these other products .... It's one to bear in mind

Your choice but I wouldn't touch it my self.

You're welcome Caroline, my findings certainly changed my outlook on parabens and now Mrs Fred always looks to see what is in our products and avoid purchasing anything with them in.

Oops sorry I seem to be hijacking Andy's thread.  Blush

Good info Fred, however! I'm going to admit that if my scalp even gets close to how it was before I will give it a try! A lot of natural oils helped with the dryness but did nothing for the itchiness that drove me bonkers. I know it's good to go as natural as possible but ... I'm ingesting Acitretin (which can't be good for me with all the warnings about what it can do to a fetus so not to become pregnant) and I'm not crazy about taking it (or anything tbh) but I'll take what gives me what I consider a better quality of life. So, thanks Andy for the info because if my scalp psoriasis were to come back and the natural oils not help with the itching again.... I would try it.

Indeed Andy it's good to know of these products I would probably give it a try if my scalp were bad and I had insurance based healthcare as you do in the US I don't know the cost of the treatment but if it's OTC products it will probably be affordable many come here looking for over the counter products. I will certainly keep it in mind for the future although I hope I never need it but should the need arise I will give it a go
