This may seem a bit crazy but bare with me.
I recently had a blood test done and the phlebotomist commented on my skin (nothing unusual there) So I started doing my normal ramblings. Such as 'Oh I know. Don't it look 'orrible' etc (Sorry about the wording but I am from Essex)
But then she told me about her friend who had psoriasis who she said used a waxing strip on a small spot of skin and that it made it much better.
Now i'm willing to try most things in order to make it look better so I gave it a try.
I'm not saying it's a miracle cure or anything and wouldn't recommend it as a regular treatment but it did actually help. Probably because I was just ripping off all the dead skin and so it looked a bit smoother...

Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you but please don't go injuring yourselves! And please don't ban me either!!!  Big Grin

Ha ha the idea of waxing has me wincing I'm afraid, but yes I can see the logic in what you did instead of or as well as hair it also removed the dead skin ... As you say not for everyone but if it got the scales off and you had smoother skin to apply topical cream to Great idea I think ( but I'm not from Essex)

Ah, you won't be banned for waxing Charlotte.. Big Grin

But I wouldn't do the waxing, I think it may be harmful depending on the underlying skin. Anyway for me it is no problem as I virtually have no problems with my skin.

We won't ban you.  Big Grin

We don't care about your wording, or where you come from. Smile

All I will say is be careful as you are damaging the natural healing process of your skin, yes it will make it feel better a bit like scratching it does but you could actually be making it spread more as you are injuring the skin.

Having said that I have heard so many things from different people, and if it's working then what the hell.

This is interesting; I've wondered whether I should try waxing, but fear of making the patches worse, or even worse, getting new patches as a result, has made me hold off! I think I'd probably break out with new patches to be honest, so I think I'll hold off for now! Cool

Be best to start a new thread as this is about using waxing strips.
