I only handle the dimethyl fumarate for a very short time, Caroline; on the palm of my hand for a bit over a minute each week. No irritation or visible change is evident. There might be a difference related to particle size: In my experience a smaller particle size causes more gastric upset.

Aha, Yes, the particle size may be much smaller with the production they are doing, so it may be a little dusty.

A bit of disappointment today. I tried to donate blood but was declined due to my drug taking. I was told that I would need to be dimethyl fumarate free for at least six months before I could donate. Explaining that the drug has a half-life of an hour and was undetectable after 24 hours was to no avail. I can understand the caution for such a critical commodity, however unqualified. A pity as it would have allowed me blood checks every 6 weeks or so, even more often had I donated plasma or platelets. On the positive side my blood haemoglobin was at 15.7 g/dl, up from 14.6 g/dl some six weeks earlier. With this increase and the haemoglobin value within the normal range, it is probably still prudent to continue my iron supplementation, albeit at a reduced rate. I will continue taking 830 mg doses of dimethyl fumarate twice weekly until my next blood test in eight weeks.

Such a shame they won’t take your blood Bill but I guess they are being cautious in view of the past problems with contaminated blood products . I know their fear is unfounded and from a position of lack of knowledge.

I agree with fred and Caroline and hold you in the highest regard for the professional way you deal with your Psoriasis and psa .... but have to admit you should be wearing a mad professor badge for the way you turn household chemicals into treatments
I admire the amount of research you must do to find the product that can act as a supplement for iron, and the concoction you use with Stockholm tar for topical treatment .... I could go on but think what you do earns you great respect here for keeping us up to date on the working of the treatments. So like Fred I also think you’re nuts but in a respectful way

Trust me Bill, it's not half as bad being told you can't donate blood because of your drug taking  as it it being told we don't want your blood because you keep blacking out.   Keep up the good work. I still think you are mad .
