It's funny Fred but I have also had an increase in my PsA in the last few days mind you it's got very cold here and as I live 200 yards from the sea the humidity has increased , the cold gets into your bones.

That's interesting Dave/David (not sure which you prefer) Caroline too has said she has felt a bit more psoriatic arthritis the other day.

The cold and damp always makes it worse for me, but I'm convinced the moon does too. The "specialists" tell me alcohol, weight, tobacco, foods, stress, etc can make psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis worse, maybe someone out there should also look into how many get worse around the full moon.

*All members please feel free to keep posting on this thread if you do notice any link between flare-ups and the full moon, you never know we may be onto something. Stopping it happening though is the difficult one.  91

Correct. Yesterday I felt it also during spinning. About half way through the hour, my right foot (the weakest one) started to hurt already, while this is normally just until the end of the lesson.

Thank you Caroline, I must say (and don't take me wrong) but I'm finding comfort that other members are having problems too at the moment.

Let's hope it passes for us all soon.  Smile

I googled"full moon psoriasis" and that is how I found this thread. I googled it because I noticed the exact same phenomenon. My scalp psoriasis gets aggressive during full moon.

I am part Indian so I know that in the Indian tradition the full moon is associated with growth. In fact it can be tested at home by showing a fast growing plant just before full moon and one during new moon and measuring the growth and then comparing the results. The full moon sown seed will have grown much more rapidly.

It seems to be a valid explaination that even human cells multiply at an abnormal date (if the immune system isn't working as it is supposed to) during this period.

If the moon affects the sea and plants, why not us? After all we are also part of nature Smile

My two cents.

Interesting that you have noticed it too. I knew it wasn't just making me go insane.  Big Grin

Here in France they are well into planting by the moon, though we tend to put ours in when we get around to it. Last year most of our neighbours lost their tomatoes, but we had plenty. So I will stick to planting when I feel like it.

You are right though, we are all part of nature and the full moon definitely has an effect on me.

Welcome to Psoriasis Club by the way.  Wave

Well following Fred's invite, I can't categorically say my PS gets worse at the full Mon but I can attest to some link. I am nearly always itchier leading up to it and several times I have had flare-ups.

This only seems to happen while I'm off medication. When I was on Acitretin symptoms and side effects ran in roughly 3 week cycle dry lips to peeling hands then peeling feet through to a big itch then back to dry lips

Well I do have bit of a flare up. Since a number of days my feet hurt more then they normally do, which is normally almost nothing. Now I feel them permanently and after longer walks they just hurt a bit.
The weather over here is grey and wet, so there also might be a cause. I try to have some more vitamin D and I use the UV light in my shower a bit more for short periods during showering.

Now you mention it, and it's nothing I have thought of before. But coincidentally the last few days I have got a bit of psoriasis in my scalp behind my ears . Could this be lunar related ....I will monitor and see if it subsides as the full moon phase passes

Oh I didn't know as I haven't seen the moon for days as we are blanketed in cloud ... So mines nothing to do with the moon I'm glad to know Big Grin it's bad enough howling at it every time a full moon shines on me Whistle
