Hi everyone, I'm Flynny and a sufferer for over 20 years. However, I'm now using a new drug not licenced in the UK called Fumaderm or Fumeric Acid. It's working!!! Really working.

Of course it is working. Big Grin
It is a combination preparative of monoethylfumarate and dimethylfumarate and some additives to protect you stomach.
Take care not to exceed 6 x 120 mg a day.
Besides it is not new, and the UK is a bit stubborn to not license it... Smile

Welcome to the forum, by the way!

Caroline

Hello Flynny Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

I see you have already met our resident Biker who has an interesting thread here: Dimethylfumarates and Psoriasis

You may also be interested in Isabelle's old thread: Fumaderm

Please feel free to start your own thread about your treatment so others can follow. The more peoples experience we get the better it is for others to decide on their choice of treatments.

Regards.

Flynny No one was knocking you for being happy about your treatment, I certainly wasn't, and if you are referring to Caroline's post I think you have taken it the wrong way.

I'm sorry you feel like leaving us without giving us a chance, but I would like to point out that we do have a mix of different people from different countries and sometimes the way things are worded could be taken the wrong way.

Please don't leave us, your input is valuable to others. And feel free to contact me should you have a problem.

Fred.

Indeed Flynny, I was being completely positive!! That is the way how my comment to your post was ment.
The reason I said "of course" is plainly the fact that I am using the same stuff as you, in a different form. "And" that I am very positive about it as it does not have all the disadvantages of many other drugs on psoriasis.
I have been holding quite some discussion on this medication, it is quite common in the Netherlands and Germany, and the best thing for me. You can check my posts on that.

Maybe I was a little "direct", and short through the curve as we say, but...well, I am Dutch and we all are that way, exactly as Fred points out.

Hi Flynny, I'm Micky and over in South Wales.
Very lucky that you have found something that is working for you, I was on MTX last year and it was working great, until I did a Malaria course for my Caribbean holiday.
This is when things went drastically wrong, and since then the hospital got scared and signed me off.
Please keep me updated on the Fumaderm, as I am looking over the next 4 weeks for my next course of treatment.
Please give the forum a chance mate, I've been here 3 years and it has been extremely helpful for me.
We are just one big happy family, but we are an international community and different people interpret the English language in different ways, especially from other countries outside of the UK.
Give us a chance mate, you are very welcome here.

Best Regards
Micky

Hello Flynny Wave

I fully agree with Micky, I moved with Fred when he started Psoriasis Club from another forum that wasn't a happy place to be. Please give this place a chance, Fred has worked very hard and still does to keep this place friendly and I'm sure if you speak to him or any of us you will feel it was just a misunderstanding. I don't post much on here and never have done but I'm always keeping an eye out on this place for any unwanted strays from the old days. I know this is a safe and very friendly place for people with psoriasis and I want it to stay that way "trust me I know what an unhappy forum is like"

I can relate a bit to how you reacted to Carolines post as I am also in the UK, but I can assure you Caroline is a very positive person and has a huge input on the forum. Yes she can sometimes sound a bit abrupt, but she is talking in what to her is a foreign language.

Have another go Flynny I am sure you will find us a nice bunch of people.

Now I better go before Fred sees me writing wore than three words or Caroline runs me down with her motorcycle Wave
