Hello All,

I have just registered as a new member after a couple of days of serious lurking, particularly the diary-type threads which I find to be very useful and interesting. Great community!

I was first diagnosed with moderate guttate p in 1997 and I have never been completely clear ever since. Been on several medications with partial success but most years I would just be patient in the winter months until summertime when sun and sea greatly helped me. In August 2016 I experienced one of my most severe reappearances since I can remember, due mostly to stress I suppose: greater responsibilities at work, suddendly needed to quickly find a new house, and the birth of our first baby (I love him but sleep deprivation hit me really hard!). I have then decided to visit again a dermatologist (first time in many years) and I am now on Dovobet (starting Feb. 6) and Neotigason (starting Feb. 13). I am new to these medications so I'm really hopeful. I can't wait to see how it goes and in the meantime I will be happy to read other members' experience with these.

Thanks everyone.

Hello kaminari  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

Good to see you joined us after doing a bit of lurking. You will find a friendly bunch and now you have joined you will also have access to the Members only boards, if you venture in there I'm the sensible one.

Good luck with your treatment and please don't hesitate to start a thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis to keep track of your progress, your input may also help others.

Regards.

Fred.

Fred's idea is good to start a new thread as you have started on dermovate and will be starting Acetretin ( neotigason ) soon so would be a great way to keep a record of your progress, we have many members on Acetretin here and if you put acetretin in the search facility Search it will lead you to their posts

I wish you success with the treatment and look forward to hearing more from you  Thumb

EDIT I have just noticed you have started your thread Thumb

Welcome and congratulations on your little one!

As others have said, there is a ton of information here and members are more than willing to help when they can. I had good results with Acitretin and as Jim mentioned there are quite a few members using it.

Hi Kaminari  Wave welcome to the Club and more importantly the Acitretin Gang there are quite a few of us on the stuff at the moment. I have been on for a little under year and up to now I have been reasonably pleased with the results. Yes I have side effects, dry lips and delaminating feet to name a few but these are far easier to live with than the constant itching and leaving a snow trail all over. Just be aware though that this is a very slow acting drug. It was several months before I saw any improvement and it is not unknown for people to have serious flare ups before things improve. Have patience and hopefully you will see the benefits.
As for Dovobet, I hate the stuff. I could only use the stuff for a couple of days before my plaques became very angry and bright red, it felt like I was rubbing acid into my skin.
I hope it all works out for you and I as well as many more of us on here look forward to hearing about your journey.
