I have one ointment that I really liked because it made my psoriasis thinner and almost healed after a few days of using it but the doctor said that it is not good for prolonged medication so I have to stop it for a while after a month of using it. I'm still using it this time. I 'm still looking for the right lotion and shampoo for me. I just would like to thank you all for this thread I learned a lot.

So everything you do to your skin is only attacking the outer symptoms, and will not reach the real cause, your immune system.
That is why psoriasis will always come back and is why medication, living style, herbs, etc sometimes help without even touching the skin.

Hello Caroline,

If found this interesting - you mention herbs - I was wondering what herbs you recommend to help? I am a keen gardener and have lots of herbs - maybe some of the ones I am growing might help me?

Caroline is on holiday at the moment so may not notice this for a while, but till she does this thread may offer a few suggestions: The anti-inflamatory food pyramid

Hello Elvi,
Indeed I am on holidays, but still have access to the 'Net' so I have seen you question. Just did a dive in the pool, bumped my foot, so now have a sore toe. That is the disadvantage of PsA, the little joints are sensitive.

Unfortunately I do not myself know about what herbs are good, I was basically referring to an experience of myself where I had a treatment and with that treatment finally got a drinkmix of herbs, which led to the situation that within one week my PsA was gone. Really amazing. The problem was, that after a few weeks it just came back. And that the exact mix of the herbs was not even known to the one that gave it to me. Repeatingly taking the drink then did not help anymore.
For me that pointed out that the source of it was not reliable enough.
I do know that there is a relation between food and psoriasis. Preventing certain types of food, e.g. Like written here RE: craving sugar, really does help.
Furthermore check the natural treatments posts. There are people that were able to avoid the expression of psoriasis by a very rigorous diet.

Oh Elvi, I just see that we have a new member, she is called Rose, and her first post just is about a natural approach by means of diet, see Psoriasis since 4 and having a good life living with it., it may be very sensible to ask her for more elaboration on how she copes with psoriasis.

Good Morning Caroline,

I hope your foot is feeling better!
I am very interested in natural routes so this is something I will be looking into! Thank you for the head's up on Rose and the advice about the herb drink. I will see if I can track down a combination!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!
