Thanks Jim.
No worries if your Doc can't recommend. There are other avenues in which to obtain it. That's of course if it's safe to take with your other meds. From what I researched, the only interactions with LDN are with opioids and alcohol. It is quite a safe drug due to it's low dose. But also not sure how effective it would be with the DMARD's. They both work in a totally opposite way. DMARD'S suppress, while LDN repairs, regulates and boost the immune system function. So they seem to be counterproductive to use at the same time. That's only my take on it. But it is a fact that's how they work.
It's thought in general, that autoimmunity is due to an overactive immune system. But the truth is,... autoimmunity is a direct result of a weakened immune state. Studies have shown this. So to me, suppressing it further makes no sense. It might curb the symptoms temporarily but as shown by you and the members here, DMARD's are not that all effective long term. And need to be changed, due to being less effective. Mostly likely due to antibodies being created.
I have learned more on health in the last 3 years than I ever did in school. Infact, before 3 years ago, I never took as much as a vitamin C tablet, or been to a doctor in 30 years. But since the colon cancer, COPD, and now this condition (PsA) that I need like a hole in the head, I have been researching 24/7 the last 1,000 days on how to improve my health by any means possible. And by that I mean, any medical treatment, plus alternative or natural effective remedies. There is a bunch of false information out on the internet and it isn't easy to sift through it all. But if you know how to research effectively, you can get to the truth, get to the facts that might help you. Sort of need a lawyer's mentality. Find evidence that can't be refuted, that will stand on it's own merit and repell cross examination.
More to come, but now it's time to throw a shrimp on the barbie. Not a good idea to barbecue, but hey, I need to break the rules once in a while.
