He is also right your GP can only prescribe creams and will continue to do so. Tell him/Her that you want to be referred to a dermatologist they are much better suited to treat you and can offer more than a GP. (A dermatologist is available on the NHS as long as your GP send you so you don't need to worry about costs).

Oh and Kat is also right. Don't go back to smoking. When I said "all I got from it was extra weight" I'm also a lot better off health wise in regard to my breathing and we all know in the long term the sooner we come off it the better our body will be.
