If you're comfortable with a new style and the gray either isn't bad or it doesn't bother you, then yes I would do the same. Less chemicals on the scalp the better
In my case, the gray blends in with my blond fairly well..... until I'm under a bright light or in the sun then you can see the "silver" show up quite well and it's a fair bit so I'm more comfortable with coloring. I have darkened my hair a bit though as the more natural dyes (I'm not sure they could be called that honestly, I guess the less harsher dyes would be a better way to word it) do not come in lighter shades since there is no lightening involved.
The main thing is to do what makes you feel best about yourself while still trying to keep your skin from being irritated.
