Anyway Jim, this is an excellent similarity to the situation with psoriasis. The fact that a dermatologist says that some medication is good, does not mean that he is right. This is also caused by the fact that he is pushed through a protocol.
New investigations show that if e.g. Rheuma is treated at the moment of diagnoses with the best medication there is, currently the biologicals, that the rheuma is then kicked back very well and can after that be in good control. Much better than following the protocol with which so much is destroyed that in the end the total treatment costs are much higher than in the beginning.
But before these thoughts are accepted by insurance and doctors will take years... We as patients/consumers can try to influence that by gathering together and to gain knowledge. Thus pushing the doctors at least in the right direction.
