Hi all,

I only joined the forum today, to ask some of you good people questions about Taltz.

Related to that, I started reading up about how the newer Interleukin-17 inhibiting biologics are proving particularly effective, and how this seems to be a promising route to getting psoriasis under control.

I stumbled across this: LINK REMOVED

It appears Ursolic Acid is a supplement that also inhibits Interleukin-17. I wondered if anyone had heard of it, or tried it? Logic tells me it would also help get psoriasis under control, but perhaps I'm totally wrong?

Edit by Fred: Link removed. Psoriasis Club has a no link policy.

I'm afraid you have broken a rule of the club by posting a link to another website ....today when you joined it clearly says no promoting another website or posting links
I'm sure your intentions are good but I'm afraid it's a rule we all have to abide by ....it keeps the site safe

That was totally unintentional... apologies I'm so used to sharing links it was just automatic. I'll see if I can edit the post to remove the link.

It might be too late I think you as a newbie only get 5 minutes to edit ...that's why I messaged you when you posted .... I can't do it but it will be up to the moderator if it's still there in the morning to hopefully just delete the link.
Edit
I will say that we mentioned Fumaderm which contains Fumaric Acid Esters FAEs, in your other thread and that targets IL 17 the same as Cosentyx and Taltz

Indeed Spotty,

Instead of a link you can always describe what it is about, and if people are interested how to search for it. As I always rise very early, I was able to take a look. And for what I read during my first coffee this morning it reads ok. What is described fits with the knowledge I already have concerning auto immunity and the cells that are concerned. I will have to study further, but I would not be surprised if the mechanism is DMF alike.

Cheers
Caroline

I have removed the link you posted. It's not against you personally and like Jim said the rule applies to all members.

The reason we don't allow links is to keep our members safe from spam, and also to keep us the only independent psoriasis website.

Had this have been your first post you would have been banned, but as you have already posted elsewhere and I know it wasn't a deliberate move on your part I'll let it go with just the edit.

Fred.

WOW!!! This was interesting reading- went and Googled ursolic acid. I did not find anything about psoriasis yet, although I did read that it is an antimicrobial. Don't know how that would affect psoriasis, but certainly interesting studies about liver and cancer and weight loss and nerve damage...

Well Angela, there might be a link to Psoriasis, as a number of studies has shown that all Psoriasis sufferers do carry bacteria in their blood of streptococcus or staphylococcus. This appears to be very common, while they are not there with people who don't have Psoriasis.
So if you have a treatment that is anti-microbial, then you might be on to something. So the suggestion is that Psoriasis (and maybe many other immune diseases) has it's cause in bacteria.

Professors Lida Holmes Mattman has dedicated her life in the research of CWDB's (Cell Wall Deficient Bacteria), which also seem to be related to e.g. Lyme's disease. Unfortunately her reseach is more or less ignored by current medical science, while it might be the solution for the current problems with bacterial resistance to anti-biotics.

In fact I personally even followed a treatment that targets those bacteria. After hesitating long, I have made a thread about it on this forum, you can find it over here A different than normal treatment for Psoriasis called Auto-vaccination.
The doctor who gave me this treatment is now building up a website in which the whole treatment is described, the approach, the background and the results he has achieved.
