As I write I seem to be experiencing a flare-up for the first time in months. Last script I got ointment instead of gel (yes-I take what I get given!). I don't know if it is coincidence or not. My feet are not too bad but hands are busy destroying themselves and the itches are back.
I wonder if it is triggered by diet as well as seasonal. It can be worse in winter but also can be bad in summer-its now Autumn -so no reckoning there.
The worse bit is the thousand and one paper-cuts which bleed and cause pain to the point of not wanting to handle even the smallest object. I have not got that just yet but this usually follows the current phase.
The good news is things are fine otherwise and glad I was not born in the age of leper colonies!!!
I'm sorry you are experiencing a flare up at the moment, unfortunately we tend to accept whatever the medical professionals dish out, it's simpler that way and if it controls it. We think that's good enough.. But sometimes we need to take a step, back and question what we are and what we aren't doing to our bodies,
Well, with steroid creams we aren't addressing the problem, we are just encouraging our skin to grow, less fast
We are storing problems up for later,in life as skin thinning is going to happen if you keep piling the creams on
What we need to do and don't often have the time, is ask to be referred to a dermatologist and try to get some medication that will deal, with the cause of psoriasis not just the effect.
Not a criticism it's what we all,do or have done in the past
I hope your flare up passes soon
