As others have said it's good that you have seen a Rheumatologist and are getting treatment. sulfasalizine Can be quite effective and give you relief, however if it does fail, or the side effects are bad. ....That will be the time to talk to the Rheumatologist about biologicals, as Fred and Bill have already pointed you towards Cosentyx I would agree, if you can get on to that there is a good chance you could get long term relief ...if your Rheumatologist disagrees point them at this thread Could Cosentyx be better than first thought for psoriasis and look yourself at Freds thread here Cosentyx for psoriatic arthritis Fred's journey there is good evidence that it will be good for you and I believe that the makers are promoting it heavily in America I've read ...so it's affordable to insurers and many have it with 0% copay
Good luck with the sulfasalizine I hope it works, and I think it's highly unlikely that you will end up in a wheelchair ...there are so many advances being made in the treatment of this disease that the future for you looks bright
