Could you try another medication in addition to Cosentyx?

It's difficult to find something that works well for PSA (in my experience), changing may cause a flare or be less effective...

Just a thought

They offer Methotrexate alongside Cosentyx but there is no way I'm taking that poison sick

Anyway I'm of the belief that the bio's should do the job on their own otherwise what is the point of such expensive treatments.

Getting itchy bumps on forearms, back and thighs. Next shot due this weekend, looks like its failing.

Little bit of psoriatic arthritis today, but it's damp and I can live with that. But these itchy bumps are starting to annoy me.

Next appointment in two weeks, will take this weekends shot and discus it then.

That's a shame if it is failing Fred let's hope it's just a temporary blip and it will get going again after the next injection

I keep thinking it's a temporary thing Jim, but it's doing it more often now. When it first started I put it down to heat bumps, but that was in the summer. I think I have to start thinking of my options. 91

If it's failing it hasn't been as long lasting as Stelara was for you which lasted around six years didn't it

I know there are options but it's hard to change drugs when one is still doing most of the job ...and there's no telling if the new drug will be as effective
But hopefully the dermatologist will have something to offer

No not as long as Stelara 6+ years, but I did keep clinging to Stelara. It never was great for psoriatic arthritis but it did help, unfortunately as you know it gave up working and I didn't relay have much of an option if I wanted to keep mobile.

Cosentyx gave me back my life and psoriatic arthritis has always been my priority. I can live with a bit of psoriasis, but these annoying itchy bumps are driving me crazy.

I have already asked about changing and going back if it didn't work, but she said no. I think you are on the same thought as me, Taltz the next option probably isn't going to be any better as it's much the same thing.

As for what she has to offer, I know what that is and I have refused backing it up with pills. So I'm left with three options.

#1 Stay as I am on Cosentyx and see if we can get rid of these annoying itchy bumps.

#2 Switch to Taltz which is much the same thing, I would think it will hold back the psoriatic arthritis but will it also stop the psoriasis and annoying itchy bumps.

#3 Try Tremfya. It's a little gamble as it goes after 23 not 17, but I did do well on Stelara which goes after 12 and 23. They are also filing for approval for psoriatic arthritis, so why not give it a try.

Difficult decisions for you, and especially when you have been told you can't go back if the next one doesn't work Confused

Have you tried antihistamine tablets for the bumps as it might give you some relief ?

No I haven't, but I don't like taking any tablets. It's a long story, but it goes back to my younger days. Whistle

Wild younger days..... Is my guess.

I would think stay on Cosentyx as long as possible. I guess if you leave it, you cannot go back to it as your body may have been making anti-bodies for it, which perhaps explains why it isn’t working so good anymore.
MTX is out of the question, I agree, it won’t do a thing for your Psoriatic Arthritis.

The new bio’s remain a gamble. I don’t know the mechanism of our bodies that makes a Bio stop working. It must have something to do with the substance of the bio. They try to make the new bio’s so that it will be adapted as good as possible by the body. And they are succeeding, which is why Cosentyx and Stelara do better then the older Humira, Enbrel, and whatever names they have.
