I'm not sure who told you that but they are wrong. There is no reason to avoid any foods or drinks with Stelara or any Bio as far as I know.

I was told that anything that held bugs such as pate,as you said raw eggs etc and to be very careful with things like bean sprouts which can contain salmonella. I was also told when I was on MTX to avoid anything that could contain bugs as with all these kind of treatments your immune system is very low so anything nasty can really be a big problem.

I don't want to derail Artemies thread, but I would like to know of any evidence about avoiding any foods whilst on a Bio. So if anyone does have evidence please PM me as I would like to read up on it and publish the findings in a new thread.

don't worry about derailing my journal, Fred. Thanks to the 'locked copy' that is all taken care of.

Meanwhile I'm on this winters flu number THREE. I'm really zonked out and tired, unfit for work or activities. That's a grand total of a flu in october, one in january and now this one including stomach bug. Wonder if I should contact my dermatologist about this.

Yes I would mention it. That's one of the problems with Stelara being 12 weeks between shots in my opinion. With others you can hold off, but with Stelara you're stuck.

Ohhhh Artemie flu number 3  Bigarm that’s nasty for you and a tummy bug as well ... I hope this is the last one for you and it clears up soon

But as has already been said it’s worth mentioning to your dermatologist, although there’s not much can be done as it’s not long since your injection.... but I have my fingers crossed that you will feel better soon

If you're looking for new posts in this thread I have moved them to a split so as not to derail Artemies thread.

The split is here if anyone wants to continue the conversation about raw foods and Stelara:

Great idea to keep phone off till you feel better
Good that you are sitting up today... hope your recovery is speedy

I have a flu jab each year ( as I have a vulnerable partner) and while I feel it protects me I do still get the occasional flu like infection. But rarely full blown flu that takes me out of action
So yes get one next year ... they do offer some relief

That sounds horrible ArteMie, I would contact the derm.

Did it get any better between the flues?

Noooooooooooooooo don't go for the flu jab, you are too young. Let your body fight it.
