Hi Brighteyes don't jump too quickly, you have had some good success with your skin on Mtx. I know it's unpleasant and I feel as you do that its not good for continued taking ( just an opinion not a fact ) but before you come off it have a plan of what will replace it. It's worth suffering a bit longer while you discuss the options with your dermatologist. Then have a plan in place. By all means tell the dermatologist of your side effects that should be enough to get him to change your drug.
I wish you luck with your skin, just don't be hasty is all I'm saying or you could be back into hell again

Good news from the tomato plants let's hope they produce sweet tasting tomatoes for you
Feed them and water them well, they will repay you for your care  Big Grin

It is good to listen to your body sometimes, Jim. I agree that you need a plan B though, especially as you can get a nasty relapse going cold turkey with mtx. As an aside, did you read about Kyle Bass's patent challenge for Tecfidera?

Cheers,

Bill

Brighteyes I disagree with what Jim and Bill have said.

Get off it, worry about plan B when it goes tits up which it probably will do. The reason I say it is because I know you and you can't go through much worse than you have been through, so sod it dump methotrexate get it out of you system and go for something different.

But as you know you will get different suggestions form our members, but it's you at the end of the day that has to make the choice. Not us, not your GP or dermatologist, it's You.

You do know those lovely tomatoes are supposed to be bad for psoriasis (nightshades and all that rubbish) but you know what? I bet that first little tomato that you have grown will put a big smile on your face and that is good for psoriasis.  Smile

Been rather introspective this week.
Attended my dermatology appointment on Tuesday only to be told it was cancelled and I 'should have had a letter'.
Yes, the letter was on the mat when I got home from failed appointment.  Huh
And guess what? It's for 3 weeks from now and I have no meds. Doesn't that sound bl**dy familiar?  Wall

On a happier note my O/H and I took Alex to the Dr Who Symphonic in Leeds on Wednesday. What an INCREDIBLE day and I hardly felt my feet at all. Too distracted by Daleks and Cybermen.  Big Grin

I am gearing myself up to go to a Foodbank Fundraiser tonight, a big deal for me as I wont have the comforting presence of my partner there. I'm not as confident these days as people believe, but I do try.  Smile

The previous symptoms seem to have calmed down somewhat but I still want to explore alternatives.
And my tomato plants are still alive. Result!!! Thumb

Big Grin Introspective: I had to Google that, I always new you had a way with words.

Yes it does sound familiar, but you get your meds from the GP Yes?

Symphonic Darleks: Neat, I bet the drummer was good.

You'll be fine at the fund-raiser, we both know you do have confidence. So straighten up that back hold your head up high and just be you, you're a great person so don't knock yourself.

Come little Tomatoes, you can do it.  Thumb

I'm saying nothing apart from talk to your doctor for more tablets  Thumb  shouldn't be a problem

Good you had a great Dr Who experience with young Alex ... Things must be on the up if you didn't notice your feet .... That's great news

Re your night out alone I'm sure you will be fine when you get there,  and it's  for a great cause as well. I wish you luck and as Fred said hold your head up high. Anyone that's been through what you have been through with your psoriasis and come out the other side, has a great inner strength, so even if you are shaking inside you will be fine as the evening goes on and you see you're the same as everyone else . Thumb

Tomatoes still alive ...........bonus  Whistle

Haven't made it to the fundraiser.
Really pushed myself to get ready (even applied make up Smile ) before I discovered everyone in York had booked taxis. An hours wait across the board.
I really cannot (physically or mentally) manage 2 buses to get there. So I've changed back into my pyjamas.
Feel such a failure. Sad

Well I'll put yesterday down as a very temporary setback.
Nick has suggested I take driving lessons (apparently we can afford it). Big Grin
Could be a game changer!

BTW......have I told y'all lately how much I appreciate you? Bigarm Heart
