Does Psoriasis come back?

If one were to use a hydrocortisone cream for say 1 month and the Psoriasis decreased by 50%, if one were to stop using the cream for a week, could it come back?

Yes I'm afraid so there's no knowing where it will pop up or even when it will pop up its a bit unpredictable

Yes it will come back. Psoriasis can go into remission but it doesn't tend to last long, it's with you for the rest of your life and will always need some type of treatment to keep it manageable.

It's also a good idea to gradually wean yourself off of treatments especially some of the creams as there is a chance of making psoriasis worse if you suddenly stop.

Come off it slowly and you could be lucky, but it is likely to come back again either in the same place or a new site.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that it comes back in the spot you treated.  What is the point of using the cream then if it's just going to come back?  Say if one used the cream and it 100% went away, it will forsure come back in the same area?  As in, I will never be able to fully get rid of it in the area where it's present?

I'm afraid there are no rules it can appear anywhere, possibly not in the same place, the point of using the cream is to give you relief and try to push it into remission, if you didn't treat it the plaques could get larger.

I could say what's the point of my treatment, ( Fumaderm tablets) I know if I stop taking them it will return,
I have spent the last 50 years battling this disease starting with creams and progressing through the various treatments and when they stop working then I move on to the next stage
Sometimes it will go away after some sunshine on the affected parts ( I'm not suggesting you expose your affected part to the sun   ) but it does help if you get the chance in private
And the chances are that it will go away from your penis, but will appear somewhere else, just be vigilant, and the worst thing you can do for the disease is worry or stress about it .......at some stage you will need to come to terms with it and treat it wherever it appears

Ok.  That is all Im worried about, that I can get rid of it on my penis.  I can care less if it reappears elsewhere, ill deal with that when it happens.  So it is possible to 100% treat on my penis, and once treated it may not reappear there, or may, there is no way to know.  But there is the possibility that it won't come back there once treated.

Also, I don't get the plaques which to my understanding are the white build up flake looking things.  My diagnosis is 'psoriasis inversa'.  Basically just noticeable red blotchy patches.

However I now find that areas that have had it before, like my stomach, can clear up but it does come back in the same spot.

Its quite a random disease, to be honest, what happens for one person can be very different to another's experience.

So it is possible to 100% treat on my penis, and once treated it may not reappear there, or may, there is no way to know.  But there is the possibility that it won't come back there once treated.

How long is a piece of string?

Once gone from the penis it may never come back, but it could come back at any time and with a vengeance. I'm not trying to frighten you but there is no way of anyone knowing the answer. I've had it bad on the penis before many years ago, but with my treatment and coconut oil it's no longer a problem. Should I stop my treatment it may come back there it may not, but I can be sure it will come back somewhere.

Psoriasis is your buddy for life. It can be managed but never cured.
