I'm sure it's the methotrexate causing those feelings it reminds me of my time on the crap drug But if you can stick it out for a little while and let it work on your feet ... It seems to be getting a bit better. Hopefully the next step will be to get out of the house ......I hope you do get into your own bed and get some proper sleep, I'm sure this is the start of the climb back

Tinkered with my profile and changed my meds from Cyclosporin to MTX.
I slept in my own bed last night. Kind of okay until O/H turned over and caught my foot with his toe nail. And I know I am going to get for this but, have just attempted to put the sofa bed away & clean my lounge. Bad idea. I am knackered. I had no idea how weak I have become over the last few weeks. I no longer have the burn......now back to annoying itching but that's still a major improvement. Going to have to get another sick note ( sick pay is just about keeping our head above water ) but O/H starts a new job at the end of April. This means I can finally hand my notice in next month and just spend spring/summer concentrating on getting back to the peak of health.

I will, leave Fred to do the spanking he seems to enjoy it too much...
Ouch the toenail encounter..... that sounds painful even without sore feet But glad you at least got into a normal bed, and are looking and sounding more positive ... But don't rush to do things there is a whole life ahead just as you say concentrate on getting better It's good you felt good enough to attempt these tasks .... But......... nuf said Keep recovering

Glad you got to sleep in bed again, hope you slept well for the most part. Really hope things stay on the upswing for you

I would say you Must do things slowly, one step at a time and not rush things.
But I'm just as bad, if I feel I can do it I just go ahead and do it. I'm usually wrong though. Tell him to wear Bed Socks.

Finally back in my own bed permanently.
My psoriasis score has come down dramatically, just need to work on getting my skin moisturised. My whole body feels like parchment paper. I'm still pretty weak but have a plan to build that up steadily over time with some gentle pilates. And I'm getting lots of nourishing soups and smoothies ( all freshly made ). The MTX is still making me feel pretty nauseous the day after I take it but , given what I have been through, I think this is a minor trade off. However, I am going to continue looking into the alternatives and getting much more vocal about problems than I have been. I don't consider this to be a long term solution. The hardest battle I have at the moment is with my head. It's constantly drawing up lists of things for me to do/things to catch up on etc. My 'rational side' ( yes, I do have one Fred ) is urging me to take it s l o w l y! I just need to keep listening. Anyway.....am off to sit outside for 10 minutes in the sunshine ( YES......we have sunshine here oop North ) so will be back later to have another nosey round. Really glad that you are progressing well ,I think that you will find that the side effects of the MTX will decrease as you go on but do not be tempted to over do it after all you are entitled to a bit of R&R so sit in the sunshine .I live sort of oop north in East Yorkshire and we have had sunshine today though it's still a bit chilly and I am looking forward to more sunshine soon as there is nothing like natural sunshine on your back. You take care and look after yourself MTX is not as bad as it's made out,I was on it for over nine years and because it's been used for so long it does not chuck up any unusual or unknown problems.

Psoriasis score dropping nicely as well but it is early and it will take a time to feel " normal" again, but you sound as if you are on the road to recovery Shame about the from methotrexate. I had those same feelings when I was on it. And got to the stage of having to force them past my lips. But if it's doing a job on you and its better than the disease. I think you are right there are better treatments they could put you on that are less toxic than methotrexate, but stick with it for the time being as it's working and when you are clear would be the time to ask for a change... What you don't want is to have it get so bad again Yes It was great outside today the sun shone here from dawn to dusk it's been very springlike ooot East Glad you seem to have turned the corner

Keep going Brighteyes things are sounding better.
Re the Sunshine: an average dose of 15 minutes three times a week is sufficient to give your body all the Vit D it needs, see here: Free Psoriasis Treatment Yes unfortunately methotrexate can make you nauseous, but like you say the trade off is worth it. If you only get one day of feeling nauseous that's not to bad, with me it lasted about 4-5 days even on a small dose via injection. Keep positive mate, you'll get there and thank you for taking time whilst you was here to say hello to our newbies. |
