Any relief is good Thumb

I did have a little success with CeraVe, but you mentioned trying it already. Like others here I found coconut oil is at least as good and in a lot of cases better than regular moisturizers. I like that I could heat in (in my case) for my ears and I imagine it could feel good cold on legs and feet.

I totally get the lack of light for pictures! We have a nice front porch that's shady but that hinders natural light from getting into the house on that side so lighting is always fun for pics.

Hi Rosie, a belated welcome to Psoriasis Club.  I have been away interstate for work, so I haven't checked the boards for a few days.

I don't have much to add over and above what the others have said other than to say give the coconut oil a go and if you don't like the smell, I have found you can add a drop or so of a gentle essential oil, personally I use two drops of Tea Tree oil in about 200ml of coconut oil which makes it smell better (I think) and has the added bonus of being an antiseptic.

This is only what works for me and I'm not advocating it for everyone, but if you decide to try some essential oil in your coconut oil, I would recomend you try it on a small area to make sure it doesn't have an adverse reaction.

Again welcome to the club, there are lots of knowledgable and friendly people here so jump in with both feet  Wink

Cheers,
Craig

Thanks Kat and Craig! I have lots of tea tree oil so might try that on a spot. Definitely ordering some coconut oil.

Hello Rosie,

Welcome to Psoriasisclub !

Normally I am much faster in my reactions and I had seen your arrival on the forum already very quickly. But I am currently living a very busy time, so past week I hardly have been on the forum.

Quite a nasty form of psoriasis you have.
Did you already discuss the possibility of biologics, specifically for your kind of the disease?

Cheers,
Caroline

Welcome Trampledrosie. , I have been rather up to my neck in it recently so I haven't been on a lot.
This is the best site that you will come across on the subject with lots of information on P and PsA in fact I don't think that you will be able to find anywhere with more information than this. The people on here are first class and , like me, you will get to call them real friends , Fred has collected together in one place some of the most genuine people I have come across. Looking forward to hearing from you ,take care Dave.

Hi Caroline! Thanks!
It is quite nasty. So far I have tried a number of steroid creams, uvb light (didn’t work), now puva light which has helped the bottoms of my feet a little but it is spreading up the sides and now the doctor said the tops of my feet and ankles) broke out in bumps and crazy itchiness this past week) look more like eczema! My legs have also started itching like crazy. Tried numerous Cerave and Cetaphil creams, bleach soaks, salt soaks, nothing helped. So she said only use betaderm and Vaseline, cold compresses and cool water soaks for now. She is going to continue puva until my regular dermatologist sees me. I don’t want to take methotrexate (my partner tried that for his PRP and it came back with a vengeance as soon as he stopped) but retinoids and biologics are the next steps I guess. So frustrating. I will have a look at the biologics threads on here!

Thanks Dave! It really is incredible what Fred has done and what a warm welcome I have received from you all  Heart Wish I could find some folks with palmoplantar pustular psoriasis as there isn’t a ton of info out there in the world. Makes sense since it only represents about 1% of all people with psoriasis. Looking forward to diving in to all this info and talking to all of you lovely people!

I have used methotrexate for quite a number of years both oral and injection , it was ok up to a point.
I have been on Stelara for well over 10 years now for both the P and PsA , a lot of people , like Fred, it stopped working after a few years but it's still going strong for me.

What part of Canada are you from Rosie?  I live near British Columbia, on the USA side.
