Do any other members of your family have psoriasis ?

Members and guests can vote in the poll above, and our members are welcome to post in this thread too if they wish.

I don't recall any of my family having psoriasis and I would imagine some wouldn't say, but my Mum had 13 siblings and my Dad 5. So obviously I had a lot of cousins but again don't recall any having psoriasis.

I know my immediate family Mum, Dad and two brothers never had psoriasis.

It’s interesting as they always seem to claim it runs in families but I wonder if that’s rubbish?

Indeed… basically every dermatologist that I know states that no doubt it is inheritable. But since I am over here on the forum I don’t believe that anymore.
Although that they are able to check the DNA and find quite a number of genes that show up with people with psoriasis that still does not mean that it is “only” sticking its head up if it is in the family. The forum shows that virtually anyone can get it.

Also if what I think is true about the origin of psoriasis, that it is starting deep in the cells, that indeed will show that anyone can get it.

Still…. My Dad, me and my sister all have it. Strange enough we all have PsA, my sister combined with a little psoriasis.
Further back in the family…. No one….

Thank you both, it's looking interesting. We have two none and one at two, but we need more so wake up you lot and get out of the Psoriasis Club bar and cast your vote in the poll.

I don't know about any other family member having psoriasis.

Although my granddaughter said her doctor told her she "may" have psoriasis. But from what she was telling me it didn't sound quite right and she only mentioned it that one time. So it's possible, but we'll have to wait and see.

I hope she doesn't get it, but at least she would have you to come to. Thumb

I hope she doesn't get it either, it's not something I want to have in common. But we don't get to choose.
