That is really good to read of your successful treatment Sheila. There is nothing to miss from a messy, disfiguring and painful illness. You must feel a great release.

It brings a level of peace to my life that I hadn't thought possible, didn't dare dream was possible. No itch, less pain, no bleeding from lesions, no flaking. I can't express in words just how much my life has improved. My self esteem is at an all time high. I can't tell you just how great this is!!

Well, something new to report. Not good either.

I let my hair grow out a bit, to see if finasteride might be helpful in regaining some hair regrowth in hopes I could grow my own hair and not have to wear a wig. Well, guess what? Psoriasis returned to my scalp. So regardless if I can grow my hair or not, it makes no difference. I am not going to have psoriasis return to my body, if I can control that outcome. Back to baldness under the wig again. woo. hoo. So much for that dream.

On to the next hurdle I guess.

On the bright side, I got authorization from the government to have my whole upper torso done for laser hair removal at no cost to me. Although there is a reason to not be so happy, there is now a huge reason to be excited. No more shaving my upper torso. Who is a happy woman??

Well, I talked to the derm. In regards to my hair, and the ravenous return of my psoriasis with the hair area, they may consider increasing my dosage to every 2 months instead of every 3. I don't care. It can only help. It would be a good thing for me right now if you ask me. The last vestiges of psoriasis that hasn't disappeared will likely disappear totally. It would be a good thing. Question is, will it kill the psoriasis when the hair is grown out. If it does, will minoxidil or finasteride allow for the hair to come back. Lots to think about.

I somehow missed these last two posts you wrote, Sheila.  How did the laser hair removal go?  I hope you are able to grow your hair back atop your head.  It's sort of an interesting clue about scalp psoriasis, though.  If you had a clear scalp without your own hair but while wearing a wig, but then had it return ravenously while your hair atop your head was growing . . . is that a correlation?

I don't know. I have my next Derm appt at the end of October.
My laser hair removal.oval is improving this gs. Not shaving as much. But with each appointment they increase the strength of the laser, so it's hurtingng. 3rd one is coming up. Not thinking it's gonna be nice.

Let us know how it goes.  I hope it's not too painful.

Yeah...not fun. Not horrible, but not fun. Good news is, I survived! ?  Bad news... at least 2 more treatments more. Apparently I have a super stubborn beard. Good news...the upper lip doesn't seem to be that bad so possibly 1 more treatment

Don't like being the fun police here but it's my job to remind that this is a thread in the public psoriasis boards.

Psoriasis related yes, but maybe it would be best to continue on your other thread before it goes off topic. Whistle
