Hi and welcome  Welcome  to the forum I'm sure you will get other answers to your query but as far as I know the cream you are using is a vitamin d derivative and should be safe for delicate areas the creams/ointments you shouldn't use on your genitals are the steroid creams
Good luck I hope it does the trick and gets you clear if not ask your dermatologist about oral treatments see Oral Treatments For Psoriasis

Edit .....I meant that vectical (calcitrol) cream is vitamin d  derivative

Well Jim. As far as I can read on the net, Protpic is in reality tacrolimus, which is an immuno suppressor and inflammation suppressor.
It normally is used with Lichen sclerosis, which is a disease like psoriasis and has a strong preference for the genitals.

So.. xxcoexist, if the doc prescribed this for you, then it seems logical to me that it is meant for the genital area, where your penis is also.

That can be derived from logical determination, but best is to ask your doctor.

Hi xxcoexist!

Welcome to the psoriasis

I have never used those but if you're unsure, ask your dermatologist.

Have a great day

Welcome!

Sorry nothing I am familiar with but as Jim and Caroline have said ... check with your doctor and if it's not working or you have some doubts, they can offer alternatives.

Good luck Thumb

Welcome to our club xxcoexist  Wave.
Like the rest it's not a topical I have come across and personally would not recommend anything applied to the genitals that hadn't been prescribed by a medical practitioner.
Non of us are medically trained and can only offer our personal experiences of this nasty disease.

I hope you enjoy your stay with us and we will do our best to answer questions as we are able.

I have not heard of Vectical but Calcitrol is the main ingredient in Silkis which I have used on the genital area many years ago and it was prescribed by my dermatologist. Having said that I didn't use it continually and I agree with the others "you should be careful what you use for the genital area"

But if it was prescribed by your doctor I would ask his/her opinion for using it on the penis.

Have you tried Coconut Oil it's good and safe for the face and genital area, it won't get rid of the psoriasis but it will moisturise. *Be careful if you use condoms as coconut oil can damage latex.

Welcome to Psoriasis Club by the way.  Wave

Thank you all so much for your answers. I go to see my new Dermo on Friday and will post what He/She says.

Good luck with your appointment, I would suggest reading the link Jim pointed out Oral Treatments For Psoriasis and arm yourself with some information about the oral treatments as the creams are never going to manage it long term.
