Yeah...lands that are a large part of Winnipeg belonged to the Metis and were seized to make space for housing. All of St. Norbert an area of Winnipeg, were a part of land given to the Metis. There are other municipalities that were promised to us that were also seized. The court battle goes on, but we are going to win. We can't be given our land back, so it is likely we will be given a monthly cheque in lieu of and freedoms that the Aboriginal peoples enjoy.

So...had an appt today with an osteopath. Cost me $160. Ànyways, during my appt he Insinuated that he could impact my psoriasis. He mentioned diet, as a source amongst other things. 

Anyone else have anything to relate on the topic??

I've changed my diet quite a bit. Reduced intake of sugar, white flour, dairy by a lot (sometimes I do better than others but definitely reduced) and it has had no impact on the psoriasis.

However, and this is opinion not fact, I do believe that some people can help their psoriasis with the right diet. But I also think some people can't be helped by their food intake. It all depends on the severity and each of us being different I think. But again, just an opinion.

Also a very difficult route to take as lots of discipline is required.....something I unfortunately do not have

So, last week I was curious how long a referral would take to see the dermatologist locally. Monday last week was day 3 of him having my file for the referral. The receptionist was kind and explained that the good Doctor hadn't had a chance to look at my file yet but said I should call back on Friday. Friday went by as I had decided I would give him a little extra time. Tuesday morning I give his office a call and the receptionist said that once he had a chance to review my file, he would decide in order of importance, who would get seen first, and once he had prioritized me, he would send me a letter in the mail in regards to an appointment.

The last time I was "prioritized", I never heard from him again. So I feel like I am getting the cold shoulder here. I wonder if I will EVER hear from him? Am I the only one that is reading between the lines here and getting the same message? Or am I being overdramatic? Thoughts?

If he is the top dermatologist, you may find it difficult to get to see him. I see the top one at my hospital, but I have known her around 12 years and when I first met her she was not the top doctor.

Sounds like you would be better off trying elsewhere, or wait another week or so to see if the appointment turns up. Thought going by what you have said, I wouldn't bet on it.

Get a referral in Winnipeg.....first one that calls is where you should go.

You can always transfer your file later

It all depends how your GP wrote the referral!

My question is, why he sends letters in the mail for appointments?????  How old is this dermatologist????

He is not the top doctor....he is the only dermatologist in town. Not much of a choice.
