Does anyone else suffer from Reynaud's Syndrome? This where the small capillaries in your extremities shut down in the cold leaving the area looking dearly white and can also be accompanied by a loss of feeling and or pain.
My middle finger and index finger on the right hand are particularly susceptible and seems to be much worse this winter since being on Acitretin. I've had a quick look on'tinternet but can't find a logical link.

I don't recall anything on the forum John but I'll give it a shout out on Twitter.

Hopefully another member will know more.

Sounds like something Matari may know a bit about.

John,
I have been searching a bit on the network and have seen several mentions of Raynauds and Lupus seeming to be connected. Have you seen that also?

John I don't know of any links, so can't help. But Mrs Jim has suffered with dead fingers when she gets cold all her life ... so I hope you get yours sorted out, as it gets very painful when the blood starts flowing again

Cheers Guys
It is something I have found a coping solution for (and I don't think I could ever get better than that). I was just bored waiting for the flight back to the UK and wondered like you do Whistle

@ Caroline, no I hadn't seen that one I will look closer as time allows.

What's your coping solution? Does it involve hand warmers

Sadly no, that tends not to work.
All I can do is let it advance so far then run my wrists (not my hands) under warm water. Once it has gone through this cycle I tend not to be bothered by it again that day.
Not ideal but it works at the moment.

Could it be that there is something with your wrists ?
I mean you have people with karpal tunnel syndrome, that has to do with nerves of course but perhaps there is an equal thing with the blood flow.

Other option... have you ever thought of Reiki? It's terribly vague and soft non science, but.. well I have done a course and often when I have cold hands and feet, I start Reiki and within 5 minutes my hands are warm and my feel follow a little later.

There is another option, but I won't tell you that. Tongue

Mmmm not thought of the wrists being primary cause. I'll have to look further.

Reiki? Is that not one step up from errrr . . . . . . . .

And the other option, I dread to ask.
