Psoriasis awareness month

In case you didn't know August is psoriasis awareness week in USA.
Lots of details are on facebook (national psoriasis association) they are also running a photo competition!

I couldn't enter as in the UK but I posted my first ever psoriasis showing picture on Facebook to get into the spirit of things!

Kind of special to see you on facebook Hanna, but your are looking good.
It was not possible to send you a message on Facebook, apparantly it does not do that.
Anyhow I do not understand a thing of facebook, it is such a confusing user-interface.

You are almost entering the last exiting month, but you seem to be ready for it.

As to your link Fred re awareness, to some point yes I totally agree but....
For me I always cover up and not even some family have seen how my skin is, so I guess by using Facebook it might encourage some people to look up what psoriasis is and get a small idea of understanding

I wish I was that brave. I dare not show a picture to anyone and I don't go out anymore unless I am covered up. Too many cruel people about and yet again my self esteem is at a low yet again. I did reply to a post yesterday I think it was Billy who wrote it. But that did not help me in fact I felt worse after I had replied to him. Sad really that I cannot dig myself out of this hole.

Dear Susan,

Are you really back on this forum? We have only seen two earlier posts of you. And this Billy is obvious not from this forum.
Over here we respect every one just as they are.
Btw that reminds me of Castlefest at the Keukenhof. 3 days of weird people walking about near a Castle. No negative sound of how one looks, just respect for the fantasies of one another  
But that on the sideways.

About you, not showing yourself, and being in a hole, please think positive about yourself. It concerns your own opinion. Opinions of others about you, do not matter. All energy, all personality, all the "you" is coming from yourself, and I am quite sure that you are a lovely person.
What is counting is what is inside and not what is showing outside.

One tip, read my posts on dimethyfumates if you have not done so. I am almost the only one on this forum that is using them, and also the one that does not dare to show my skin.....as it is clean...

Sorry to hear your feeling down


It can be so hard to pick yourself up, a lot of the time I don't think people noise psoriasis in passing anyway!

It was so hot today I just had to wear shorts and t-shirt and while out and about I can't say I noticed any one looking at me any different
