Here's your first tip to give you an idea.

Stuck quotes: This is one that often pops up and it's caused by a fault in the software.

The problem usually happens after you use "multiquote" it will sometimes carry the quote over into a new post elsewhere or in the same thread.

There are two ways of fixing it, but you have to fix it yourself as it can't be fixed from my end.

Option #1 Go to the test board and start a new thread. If you see this you need to click "Deselect this post"

Option #2 Clear the Psoriasis Club Cookies. There are different ways of doing this depending on what browser you use so do a search for "how to clear cookies" in your favourite browser. *Note I don't recommend this option unless you know what you are doing as it could log-you off and in some browsers it may clear your saved passwords too.

Don't worry though if you do get stuck I'm always here to help.

See you for the next tip in a weeks time.

I will check it regularly, thanks! I have realised that I don’t really use all of the forum properly but I’m starting to navigate better now.

No problem TL, I would rather you all be able to use it to your own personal choices than not come back because you found it difficult.

And as I said if you have a request please let me know, the software although has it's limits it is very powerful if you know how to use it to your advantage.

This weeks tip is Avatars

An avatar is the little picture you see in members profiles, by default every member has the one you see below. Some members keep the default one and some change it to their own image, it's your choice but personally I like avatars as they make people more individual.

Like I said you are welcome to keep the default one but let's look at changing it, it's a simple process but there are some restrictions and obviously anything that breaks our rules like advertising or inappropriate content will get removed.

Ok first we need to get an image, if you do a web search for "Avatars" you will find thousands of free ones to choose from (*note animated ones won't work) some websites let you make your own or you could simply use a picture of your own.

Your avatar needs to be on you device as a link won't work it also needs to be 100x100 pixels and 50 KB but don't worry too much about that because If your avatar is too large, it will automatically be resized but it may look better if you size it yourself.

Now you have your avatar you need to go to your control panel you can find that here Control look at the left hand column and click "Change Avatar"

Now you will see the current avatar that is shown in your profile, click the "Browse" button where it says "No file selected" find the image on your device and choose it. The no file selected will now show the name of your image, click "Change Avatar" and the job is done.

Go to your profile or look at one of your posts and you should see your new shiny avatar. If you don't see it, it may be your cache, you can clear that or wait and it will change eventually.

Any problems let me know.

See you next week.
