I might have posted about this before but I can’t find it - does anyone else suffer from psoriasis up their nose, especially in winter? I find it quite annoying and sometimes sore. You get extra skin growth like elsewhere but up your nose you can really feel it.
When I mention it to the derm they don’t have any advice and of course you can’t really use steroid cream on what they call mucous membranes. Moisturisers don’t do anything to help.

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

That sounds very annoying! And as you mention, difficult to treat.

If it gets worse in winter, is that because of the heaters inside making the air drier?

Quite possibly, it seems to go with a general flare up as it gets colder and the heating goes on.

I don't recall you mentioning it before TL and couldn't find a thread under your username with the title "nose" but no big deal as we can't remember every thread we start, and you are all welcome to start as many threads as you wish. If there was one the same I can always merge them if needed.

Re you question, I don't recall having psoriasis up in the nose as such but I think I once had it just inside the nostril and as you say you don't want to use steroid near the mucous membranes but I did use some diprosone and it helped *But you really shouldn't try that.  NoNo

If it's well up the nose then no you shouldn't use anything other than a moisturiser without consulting your dermatologist.

Are you sure it is psoriasis ?  I ask because I used to get cold sores up my nose which I thought was psoriasis, horrible things, but if you've never had cold sores I doubt it would be that.

My tries would be

#1 Coconut oil

#2 Vaseline

#3 Cold cream

Another thing you could try is a nasal douche.

When we lived in a high desert, we used nasal saline mist to help with dry nose.  Do you think that might help?  Or maybe it would sting?

I hadn’t thought of it being something else - I’ve not had cold sores before so I don’t think it would be that, but you can catch things more easily when you’re on bios. I believe it’s psoriasis because it goes away when my skin is responding well to bios and comes back when I have a flare up.

Vaseline might be a good one, thanks - it might stay put a while.

As to a mist, perhaps it would help but I don’t think it’s particularly dry up my nose.

Do report back TL if you do solve it, I'm sure it will help others in the future. Thumb

Or maybe others have suggestions ?

I had mentioned that, but I think I remember TL not finding it helps.
