Morning folks!  New member Kellie here.  Hoping to find insight on Otezla side effects.  I've been on it about 6-weeks and have worked through the usual nausea and headache but am experiencing one symptom not discussed.

Anyone experience very sensitive skin on this stuff?  I have moderate plaque psoriasis that's responding very well to Otezla but now I'm getting this weird reaction.  It almost feels I'm feverish but my temp is fine..  Today the sensitivity is throughout my torso but not limbs.  So bizarre.  I'm not even sure it's the Otezla causing it.  Anyone have thoughts or info?

Thanks very much for your replies!

Morning Kellie, although it is evening over here… Big Grin

Welcome to psoriasisclub.

I don’t know much about Otezla, but I have a friend who was on it. I can ask her for her experiences, i do know that she didn’t last long on it.

Welcome Kellie!

I have not taken Otezla but I think with what you are describing, I would contact my doctor and tell them about it to be on the safe side. It just doesn't sound like the "standard" side effects that I mostly have seen people discussing here. It's just always best to err on the safe side in my opinion.

Let us know how it goes and Welcome again!

Hi Kellie

Welcome to the Psoriasis Club

I never tried Otezla but knew someone that was on it.  Aside from the nausea and headaches, I don't recall her mentioning skin sensitivity.

As Kat suggested, discuss this side effect with your doctor.

Keep us posted

Hi Kellie and a big welcome to the club, good that you are experiencing improvement in your psoriasis with the otezla, but  it sounds as if you are experiencing a kind of hypersensitivity  and it could be an overreaction of your immune system to the drug, but I would certainly inform your doctor, as I could be a reaction to something else. If it's mild it may pass as your body adjusts to the drug but do mention it to your doctor
I hope you enjoy the forum and will keep us updated on the outcome ,

Hello  Kellie  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

If you put Otezla in the Search facility whilst logged-in you will find some threads that could be worth reading.

But I'm going to agree with the others and say "you should contact your prescribing doctor" what you describe does sound a bit like I felt when I had a reaction to Humira many years ago, I ignored it and ended up looking like a lobster and ended up in hospital for a week.

So get in touch with your doctor, it may be nothing to worry about but it could be a reaction.

Do report back as you information could help others, I will also put this thread in our next newsletter.

Regards.

Fred.
