I have been on a PBD (plant based diet) for 2 years.  My psoriasis slowly got worse with natural treatment (beeswax, avocado oil, almond oil, shea, vit E, coconut, cocao combinations).  I have just started a Dovobet ointment treatment.

I think exercise is important and I do eat meat occasionally.  I use grapeseed oil to make pancakes and fry onions and garlic.  I have one or 2 drinks of alcohol a day.

Hello Ptree,

Welcome to psoriasisclub. Wave

It is a bit strange that your psoriasis got worse with natural treatments, as several others have good results. But I think they probably also skip meat and alcohol.

We have a specific part of the forum, Natural Treatments For Psoriasis, dedicated to natural treatments. Perhaps you can find more ideas over there.

There are a lot of conventional treatments described, together with member experiences over here on the forum.

Enjoy and ask if you want to know something.

Cheers,
Caroline

Hi ptree and Welcome to the forum, I hope you will find the information on here helpful and if you struggle to find anything just shout and someone will come to your assistance.
I myself couldn't get on with diet as I like my food too much and I see you struggled and still got worse.
We have some on here doing well on diet , but I have to admit most don't keep it up and don't improve

I see you are now prescribed steroid creams and depending how bad you have it. Should shift it. But it is a constant battle that's why I keep coming here to read of new innovations and treatments for psoriasis

Have a look around and you will see we are all sufferers just like you and share our experience and knowledge of the disease here

We also have an active off topic board where members go for something a bit light hearted

Enjoy the forum and don't be afraid to ask questions

Hello ptree  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

Sorry I'm not a believer in diet to treat psoriasis, but that is a personal thought and some say it does well. But then again neither is Dovobet and you should be seeing a dermatologist.

But I wish you good luck.

Fred.

Hi Ptree  Wave

Welcome to the psoriasis club!

I'm not too good with dieting but some members seem to be able to control the psoriasis with diet or natural treatments.
Not an easy feat Confused

I wish you luck!

Hi ptree

Nice to meet you and welcome to the club!  There is a wealth of information on here for sure..... I'm not good with diets either, but as the others have mentioned, for some people, it works well.

Welcome ptree.

A healthy diet is never a bad idea, but for most people it will make little difference for psoriasis. Your best chance of helping yourself is by seeing a dermatologist as this will allow your disease to be professionally monitored and give you access to effective treatment. No treatment is guaranteed, but with proven therapies your odds of benefit are far greater.

Cheers
