That looks awful Martin. I am disgusted that someone claiming to be a medical professional could let you get like that. Disgraceful! For now, put all your effort into getting treated. Fighting will add to your stress levels at a time when you don't need more angst. There will be plenty of time when you are well. Documenting your condition and circumstances is important, although from your pics you seem to be all over that aspect.
Cheers and well wishes.

I know nothing about the NHS nor your laws regarding negligence. But I do know that it is a shame that you are being ignored when obviously you need treatment ASAP! Sorry you are going through this and I sincerely hope you are able to be seen soon!!

Martin - I agree you need to get help urgently, perhaps your GP will agree to see you or you can send them your photos? They should be able to get you seen at urgent care at the hospital.
I had an experience over a Christmas period where I could get seen, then when I did eventually see a derm they refused to look at my skin and sent me away with a tube of cream.
I then decided to go for a private consultation as it had gone on for weeks, and he was shocked - my skin was bright red and hot, I was shivering and burning up - he put me straight on steroid tablets which worked straight away, then saw me the next time at the nhs hospital where he also works.
I do hope you get it sorted fast.
Kat, the NHS has its issues, I’ve had and heard of some pretty poor experiences. But - I would still far rather have it than any insurance based private only system. Through paying for it in our taxes, we can have our babies, our dermatology and rheumatology, our biological drugs, our vaccinations, our necessary operations - all free at the point of access, no credit card or insurance checks when we go into hospital, no worries when we change jobs, no having to be careful which hospital we get taken to.
It has its problems but on balance it works, and I feel sad when our friends in the US decide it’s awful because of hearing of some less brilliant experiences because on the whole it does work.

What the NHS needs is a top down reorganization where you end up with a NATIONAL Health Service instead of individual empires called trusts and private GPs companies which 90% of them are. We have a situation where one trust will not talk or supply test results to another trust, where self employed consultants dictate what is going to happen for their own convenience instead of the patient. Where GP refused to do specific testing on their listed patients because the fee is not enough in their opinion even though they get a fixed rate for each registered patient even if they never have seen them every year.
Individually a larger amount of the people employed in the NHS are excellent but collectively with the empire builders especially in the management but not exclusively the NHS as a whole are poorly run have little regards for costs and for the most, the patient as well.

My word Martin that's disgusting that they have messed you about so much, and to be honest I think the dermatologist should have seen you your skin is so bad and your arthritis
Im glad you came and had a rant here (I'll ask Fred to move it to the prescribed treatment area where it is more likely to be seen )
I hope you have got the cosentyx by now and have started injecting it
Good luck and I think you have a case for negligence from the way I read it
nope,, still waiting
That's terrible Martin have they seen photos of your skin ...they should be ashamed letting a patient get into such bad health, when it's totally treatable
not yet but im going to show them

It’s difficult to see your situation Martin. Difficult because of the obvious fact that no one seems to act at your location.
I hope that you can get some relief/power out of the reactions over here on the forum.
There are a few suggestions on what you could try to do. As far as possible we are standing behind you, but all we have is advice. And some of us do have experiences with the NHS so are capable of the possibilities and impossibilities of it.
Hope your next step will trigger some action.

I have had a reply on Twitter about this thread from an NHS inflammatory clinical nurse specializing in dermatology.
Quote:
Unfortunately .... the inflammatory patients are losing out in a system that prioritises 2ww skin cancer referrals leaving little or no capacity for f2f inflammatory appointments.
For biologic non responsive patients or patients with severe flares we have to wait for photos to be sent in to be reviewed due to lack of capacity to see them face to face.
It’s a direct failure due to covid but also because of the inappropriate referral system for 2ww and the pressures that puts the Derm depts under to prioritise these patients over the inflammatory patients.

It's a direct failure of the NHS with Covid getting the blame for most of it just like Clare is only coming home today after being two nights in a bed that doesn't exist.
