It doesn't have to be a huge meal Duncan it's just so it has something to get it through the stomach and into the intestines
For me my morning tablets are taken with a couple of slices of toast and a cup of coffee
My evening ones are taken with my evening meal which isn't huge but I do indulge and have a pint of beer air cider with it (not compulsory Big Grin you could have water ) but it does help if you have plenty of fluid

I am sorry Jim, but that is not correct.
The stomach is not the problem. Skilarence has a stomach resistant coating, so it will pass the stomach without problems even if you take it only with water.
The problems occur in the intestines, as the DMF is released from the pill. That is where you get the cramps. They are intestinal cramps, not stomach cramps.

Bill is the only one who might get stomach pains, as he is using the raw stuff.
Its 3 times a day anyway. I don't normally have 3 meals a day.
What does DMF stand for anyway, Excuse my ignorance. I know its Dimethyl Fumarate but that's DF
Is there anything to stop the diarrhoea until the body gets used to it.

It is DiMethylFumarate. It is a fumarate-Ester.
In the intestine the DMF is quickly metabolized to MMF (monomethylfumarate) which is the real working substance. Fumarate is an essential substance for the energy cycle (citric-acid-cycle) of the body. Adding DMF will enhance this cycle.

Three times a day?
I have my pills once a day all together  (but I have the slow release version). When I eat normally, I have no problems. When I eat fat foods and e.g. spicy foods, the chance of a bit of diarrhoea enhances.
Best thing is to skip a day to stop the diarrhoea.
And than restart again after a day. E.g. Bill takes his dose twice a week.

Once a day would be way easier. I could take them with a main meal.
Recommended final dosage is, 2x120mg morning, midday then evening. 720mg per day

With the intestine pains you describe, I myself indeed would also not take the tablets in one time. But I see you will be stopping this treatment.

Just a thought Duncan. At the start of this thread you say Otezla gave you diarrhoea and now Skilarence is doing the same, I think it could be worth you asking if you have some underlying stomach problems that could be investigated.

I was thinking the same thing.
Nearly 24 hours since I stopped taking the drugs and cant get off the toilet.
Then again. Both Otezla and Sliarence are know to be harsh in that area. At least with oteza I had taken them a few month and on full dosage. No where near that with Slilarence. Also, no stomach pain with Otezla.
Ill see what she says on my next visit

Well that takes a long time Duncan. You seem to be quite sensitive for DMF. That happens and I even think that the slow release version would not help you.
Good luck recovering, normally within 24 hours, with your speed, the drug has left your body.

Went to dermatologist today. She is putting me on Adalimumab. She has asked me to get the Influenza and Pneumoccola vaccine. Doctors say they don't have the flu jab in for another month.
What I don't get is, with the flu vaccine, you have to have it every year. Once on Adalimumab, I cant have any live vaccines. So what is the point

No you can't have "Live" vaccines when taking bio's but the flu jab is available as not a live vaccine. Others may be able to tell you more, but even though I get offered them every year I never accept so I'm only giving an answer by what I understand and not from personal experience.

Such a shame Duncan that Skilarence wasn't for you I hope the Adalimumab works well for you and you get fast clearance with it
I'm having my flu jab in the morning I'll ask if it's live vaccine and let you know

My understanding is that Flu Vaccines are inactive (not live) so I checked with my wife who is a nurse immuniser, she confirmed this and also said that the regular vaccine delivered via injection is inactive however the nasal flu vaccine is an attenuated live strain.  So it would be wise to confirm with your GP prior to getting the jab
