Hello, I just joined the group a few minutes ago.  I am so glad to have found this forum so I don't feel so alone now.  I also have Multiple Sclerosis.  With the MS and the psoriasis both being an autoimmune disease it complicates the way in which the psoriasis can be treated.

I am married and we have three children - all grown and 2 grandchilddren with the youngest graduating from high school this year.  So this coming year they will both be in college.  My husband and I are both retired.  We sold our home a couple of years ago to downsize and are in an apartment at this time.  We have not decided whether to stay in Raleigh, NC or move to another area.  We really like the Ashville area but have lived in Raleigh for about 17 years now so I really don't know if I want to move to another area.  It's harder after you get older to think about adjusting to a new place and having to find new doctors, dentist, church, etc. so we may just stay put.

My husband is a golfer and fly fisherman so he has really enjoyed being able to do both since retirement.  I love any type of craft.  I crochet, knit,  and sew.   I love to take old vintage linens. especially the white ones, and recycle them into new items.  I also love to watch Turner Classic Movies.  I prefer the old movies to the new ones.  Much less violence and profanity.

That's pretty much my profile at this time and I look forward to being a part of the group.

Hello Nomorepeggy  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

We are glad you found us too, we don't make it easy to find us but when you do you will find a very friendly bunch of people. No ads, sponsors or donations. Just people is what we are about.

I'm a bit tired now but if my memory serves me well the DMF gang will know more about treating both psoriasis and multiple sclerosis.

Myself and Mrs Fred also downsized and moved to a different country. It's hard at first but life is much more enjoyable.

Have a good look around, I can recommend the [Group Specific] if you want to get to know more of our members. I'm the only sensible one by the way.  Wink

Regards.

Fred.

Hi nomorepeggy  Welcome to the club it's a lovely  introduction, it's sad to read that you have ms and psoriasis  but there is one drug that is used to control both that is available in the US it's called tecfidera and is basically the same drug that I'm on for psoriasis it is just dimethyl fumerate the one I'm on is not available to you but I would ask your ms doctor about tecfidera
You will find a lot if threads here about DMF  for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis
So enjoy searching through and if you need a hand finding anything just shout

Welcome Nomorepeggy!

You live in a beautiful part of the country!!  Raleigh is beautiful but I LOVE Asheville!!!

Kids grow up fast but I think grandkids grow up faster.  Yes, the DMF gang will know more about MS with psoriasis, afraid I don't know much about MS treatments.  I do hope you are doing well and glad you found your way here!

Welcome Nomorepeggy,

I agree with Jim, as I am also one of the DMF gang. You can use tecfidera for slowing down the MS and treating Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis.
I don’t know if Skilarence is available at your place, that is a lot cheaper and if you would use it for Psoriasis, then it also will work for MS and Psoriatic Arthritis. We have a doctor in Germany who treats himself for MS with DMF.

If you would start to use is, I don’t now exactly where you are standing now, then beware with the buildup of the medication. The buildup (increase of dose) of tecfidera is way too fast. But enquire over here if it becomes relevant. .

In the mean time enjoy the club, it is a good place to be,

Cheers,
Caroline
