Stupid question: don't you have a portion to pay for the medication?
Are all appointments like this in the hospital?

The receptionist said they still aren't doing routine appointments. But would speak to the dermatologist Nice and easy. I don't know about the appointments, but my understanding is that they pay a set amount for a prescription no matter how much the medication costs. I think they can also buy an annual ticket to except them from charges. But Jim may spot this now.

Thanks Jim!
The costs are pretty good Now just wondering if you mean clinic by hospital .... I.e. What you call chemist we say pharmacy or drug store Our GPs, dermatologist, etc work from clinics. Hospitals are for operations, emergencies, specific tests such as MRI, certain treatments, etc

Hihihi What you call clinic or hospital we call ziekenhuis or hospitaal What you call chemist or pharmacy we call apotheek What you call drug store, we call a coffee shop, which does not sell coffee but weed. Or we can compare this to a “drogist”, where they sell the simple free medications and also soaps, shampoos and so on. For us everything is concentrated in the Hospitaal, except for the GP’s, they often work in local health centres (gezondheidscentra) Lately there are popping up some kinda clinics who specialise in a certain direction, e.g. an eye-clinic, or right on the opposite side claim to work more in teamwork with a variety in specializations in order to address complexer problems. My latest experience in this direction tells me that it is largely a commercial teaser.

Yes all drugs are subsidised by the government and all dermatology clinics are held at hospitals our GPs operate from surgeries in the community and they refer patients to hospital if they find a problem . But once you're on the hospital radar they continue with your care, we don't have separate clinics for NHS dermatology so it's usually a visit to a hospital to be seen
