I'm a gardener and I'm outside in the sun and honestly if your psoriasis is substantial your not likely to do much more then age your skin. I believe though that the insurance providers make these hoops of progressive therapies before they will pay for the more expensive treatments like the biologicals. Good luck, sorry to be negative.
No worries River. I'm still tempted to try lol. It doesn't seem that their are any great options, or ones that don't cause other problems or potential problems. He has P on every body part but just a little bit. I think the thing that may hold us back is my son will probably be to embarrassed to have a tan in the winter so It may be off the list anyway...unless we do something like go to Hawaii
I’m back on UVB 3 times a week at the moment, for me at least it does help particularly over winter. Best of luck to you and your son.

I like your friend's story, Imapsomun. When kids get psoriasis, that is the way you want things to go. I hope your strategy works for you.

It should be tried but if there are not great results push the doctor to move on to something else. I let them do the light treatments far to long and should have insisted to try something else. As for the tan well that was the best part and the treatments during the cold winter here felt nice. People just think you go south for vacation and are envious.... har har.

That's good to know, just remember though that we are all just people living with psoriasis and none of us are medically trained. Having said that you do get a good mix of information from genuine people, and that is what Psoriasis Club is all about.

Thanks Fred. I realize anecdotal evidence is just that, and the docs have the best intentions, but they aren't living it. They also are always in a rush to get to their next patient or what ever

not one of them explained how the steroids work, the risks involved, how if you stop abruptly the P can bounce right back etc etc.
I just really appreciate everyone's opinions and sharing of experiences, but will always make up my own mind in the end.

Wise decision. It's your
(or in your case your sons) body and we have to go with what our hearts tell us.
And now you are a member of Psoriasis Club, you too will be adding to patient evidence.

I'm thinking of starting a Journal...there have got to be other parents who could learn from us.

Certainly a very good idea !
Indeed we have had members who were looking at the forum for their relatives. And youngsters have not much to go on. Every experience in that field is very valuable.
