Unfortunately you will never get rid of it permanently. It's all about learning to live with it and management.

Are you seeing a dermatologist ? if not you need to see one, they will work with you to find what works best for you. It takes time and you can get on top of it, but it's never going to go away for ever.

As for your self confidence. Most people find by talking about it with their friends and family helps, also by joining in here you will get a lot of support from others who understand how you feel.

Welcome to Psoriasis Club by the way.  Wave

Fred.

Hi and  Welcome to the club . I’m sorry you are having such a hard time with Psoriasis, it is not pleasant and I agree it can knock your self confidence, as fred says it’s not something you can get rid of, but it is possible to get remission for periods, and when you find a treatment that works you can go long periods without it bothering you ..I have just had six years without a flare up. there are lots of advances in treatments to control it, but you will need to see a dermatologist as a GP  can only offer creams and potions

I know this is not what you wanted to hear but it’s a fact. There is no miracle cure ... coming here and talking with fellow sufferers about how they cope can be a big help

Tell your doctor about your concerns and how it has sapped your confidence, tell him it’s more than an irritating rash, as it has affected your life badly,

There is always someone here to share your concerns with and all the members are friendly and know what you are going through
I wish you luck getting a treatment that works for you, but tell your doctor you’ve had enough of creams that don’t work and need to see a specialist

hi there, welcome to the club! Most of us are nice, haha. We're at least in the same boat, for life. This forum is a treasure trove of information. Have a read of different meds and what people here think about it. Hope you can see a dermatologist soon! Ask for something better then cremes/ointments, there is so much out there these days and the biologicals are really good. Some don't work for all, so it could be a bit of a trial and error untill you find some relief.

Hi and welcome to the club, the inmates are very friendly but most are barmy , don't get despondent as in the last few years there has been great strides in the treatment of P . Get to see a good dermatologist and in the meantime have a good look around as there is more information on hear than anywhere that I know plus any questions you ask will be answered by people who have the same problems, no adverts and no con merchants trying to sell magic cures this is the place to be.
Good luck Dave
