Okay I think something is starting to happen. All of a sudden all my plaques seem flatter and a lighter colour. The unbearable itch has disappeared. This has all happened very suddenly, though I do realise the itch had been less intense for a few days now and I hadn't noticed. I'm absolutely delighted.
Still no side effects that I'm noticing. I do currently have a cold though. Usually beat colds/flu freakishly quick but I've had this for a week now. Getting my first blood test tomorrow since the dose increase. Wondering how my currently illness may affect the results?

Great news at long last you are beginning to see changes. Let’s hope it starts working fast for you and you manage to tolerate it without side effects that would be brilliant I hope the blood test results are ok if your white count is down a bit explain that you have had an infection and suggest another test when the infection clears up Good luck and thanks for the update I’m sure it will help others in a similar situation Jim

Aside from the patches being flatter and not itching nothing else appears to be happening at the moment.. they're still quite red and the samr size. Only reason I mention this is that I've heard once your skin starts responding to these meds the improvements are normally very fast.. could it just be a little while longer until they start to disappear or will I perhaps need another dose increase - is the itch disappearing and the plaques being flatter possibly all the improvement I will see on my current dose (15mg)?

Quick update: all plaques are alot flatter, the flaking has reduced massively and the itch is gone.
Progress seems to have stalled there though as it's been this way a couple weeks a none of my patches, including the very small ones, have disappeared. Not sure if it'll continue to improve between now and my next derm appointment (end of October) or whether I will need a dose increase (currently at 15mg) for the plaques to clear up visually.

It's difficult to say really but if the plaques are gone and it's all new skin where they were then this will take a while to tone to the colour of the rest of your body I think, but if it doesn't improve a bit more in the next week it might be worth phoning the dermatologists office to see what they think it's possible a dose increase might clear you faster but the Methotrexate is definitely working on your psoriasis so it might just need time

If you have an increase in the dose I would seriously ask if you could go onto injections as you will be less likely to have any side effects.

Just thought I'd pop in with a quick update. Been on mtx for about 5 months now and it's worked wonders for me. It's cleared me up about 99.9%.. have a couple of stubborn patches but are very small and not angry looking at all. Still got the pink patches that are evidence of where some of psoriasis was but my dermatologist said these will fade too but that might not happen until the summer.
Dose is 15mg and I can't say I've suffered a single side effect at all. Not even any tiredness. Infact I feel more energised than ever, though this could be due to the slump that is dealing with psoriasis has been lifted.

That's good to hear. Long may it continue.
