Hey Everyone, I just wanted to share my feedback.  I know Cosentyx is a new drug so I wanted to do my best to share my story in hopes of helping others.  Quick Disclaimer, I take it for Rheumatoid Arthritis NOT Psoriasis, But I've gotten so much good info here I wanted to give back.

The Good
Cosentyx has reduced my symptoms by about 15%.  Not night and day but definitely noticeable.  It does seem to be working better for me than the Humira.
Havent gotten sick(except the candida)

The bad
Weight Loss(about 20 pounds or 12% loss in 7 weeks)......maybe a plus for some lol
Oral Candida(UGH sucks)
Sensation of passing out (noticing a fair amount of other RA guys are complaining about this)
Fatigue (noticing a fair amount of other RA guys are complaining about this)
Foggyness
Easy bruising

Im still on it and trying to push through to see if the side effects subside.  My doc and I are watching these side effects closely. My biggest challenge with this medication is since such few people are on it, is being able to talk with others on these side effects and get an idea of what the future holds.

So to sum my experience....Decently effective, but quite a few side effects for me and at this time we are trying to push on.  I'll post updates as I have them.  Right now I just really need this candida infection to go away, but we'll see.

Good to hear you are getting good results for Rheumatoid Arthritis, I have been on it for a year now and have been getting excellent results for Psoriatic arthritis.

As for the bad things you mention, I've not experienced any that you mention. I've not experienced and bad effects apart from finding it's not as good for psoriasis as it was when I first started it. So sorry I can't help there.

Good luck.

I can't help with your query about side effects I'm afraid, as I've never been on Cosentyx

But I will put a link to this thread in our next months newsletter and get it to a wider audience

Ive done some diggings on some websites and have found out this:

Cosentyx seems to be effective, however I've found a few other people complaining about
extreme fatigue
sensation of passing out

I have been on Cosentyx for over 2 years. In the beginning I have the fatigue issue, that went away after a few months. I have not experienced the weight loss and boy could I use it. I am on 2 150 something doses every 28 days. I never miss an injection always every 4 weeks on Friday right after work. Also I can tell you that I have tried Humira, burned like crazy going in and stopped working after a while, Stelara worked well but failed after 3 months.

After three months Im being removed from Cosentyx.  The side effects are just way too severe.  There a major sense of malaise that began when I started taking it.  It was obviously from this medication.  It did seem to help better than the humira, but the side effects were just too much.  Im spending on average 2-3 days in bed a week.  This was not the case before.  Im putting it up here since this medication is new and we are still learning about it.  I dont mean to sway anyone away from taking it as it does seem to be promising for some.

That's a shame awesomeman, you gave it a good try but it obviously didn't agree with you ...it's good of you to give your experience ....they all count good and bad

Have they suggested what the next treatment might be ?

Shame it caused so many problems for you, I think yours is the worst case I have heard of with Cosentyx. I've been on it over a year and had zero side effects.

It just goes to prove what we always say here "What works for one may not work for another"

Good luck with your next treatment.

So Ive finally got the cosentyx out of my system and man its like a freaking switch....both ways lol.  Symptoms came back like THAT, however all those nasty side effects are GONE.  Heres what I realized.
Cosentyx was effective, however the side effects were crazy.

One thing I realized is it did cause a LOT of anxiety, I was always jittery while on it.  Also that sense of fatigue and malaise.....is GONE.  Im starting to gain some weight back which Im happy about and Im just so much happier off that medicine.  Its a shame because it was helping the disease.  Im literally 100 times happier while being in 100 times more pain.  I feel even better than on the days I received shots of prednisone and toradol.
Please dont let this deter you from trying it.  I do think my symptoms are unique and the main reason I post them is for the other minority who may experience these side effects to know they arent alone.
Next stop is Otezla......lets see how that goes.

Shame it wasn't for you let's hope Otezla is the one.

Feel free to start a new thread about your journey, and don't forget to change treatment in the box in your profile.

Good luck.
