ArteMie's journey with Stelera

hi all =]
quick update on the Stelara, I'm almost clear! Sadly in 2018 I've already had a full on flu 4 times plus 1 cold, or.... 3x the flu, one hell of a throat infection that kept me home from work and 1 minor cold. My derm says it's up to me to continue or not. I will tho; just had a shot on the 30th of july. But feeling sick and low energy often isn't.. perfect. Wearing dresses is great! So, I'm doing a immune boosting regime: Gargling with garlic, and eating lots. home made bone broth in freezer portions good food wine lots of sleep fresh fruit and veg 1 multivitamine pill per day some Tumeric water with a bit of honey

Sometimes we have to weigh up what is best. I think you are better off carrying on for the moment as Stelara is a good treatment especially once your body gets used to it. Plus don't forget that the current heatwave could also be having an effect on you and it may not all be down to the Stelara.
Good to see someone taking Wine in their regime. Beats drinking green juice any day.

Great to hear that Stelara has just about cleared you. No doubt with a clear skin you have been able to enjoy some of the warm weather and get some rays on your skin ... such a shame that you have been plagued with flu and infections ... hopefully this will stop as your system stops fighting with Stelara and turns its attention to other things and starts fighting the flu ( just a thought) anyway I'm pleased it’s working and you are sticking with it for now
Like Fred I’m pleased you haven’t cut out wine Good luck and I hope you are over the worst of the flu

Great to hear a good news story, may it continue to improve for you ArteMie. Sounds like the immune boosting regime is just what the Dr ordered particularly the wine...

Good result ArteMie and good luck with your immune booster search. I have been searching for a while without success. B vitamins might help and iron might be important, but with so many variables it could take a while even if such a thing is possible. At least good food and wine will be enjoyable for you.

I think there is an unbalanced preference on the wine-part of your advice seen from the members of Psoriasisclub.
But I wish you much luck and success of course!

Thanks all =]
I'll try the iron, can't do any harm in a mild dose, good tip. Meanwhile, hanging in the garden is great, the weather is so lovely and summery =]

update:
I've just about had it with all the heavy flu bouts. Just in 2019 alone I've already had two whoppers and the year has just started. When sick; not able to do anything, let alone go to work. So I'm gonna ask my dermatologist to switch me to something else. Don't mind a cold or a quick flu but I'm not able to function normally. ( On Humira I just felt really really down, didn't get sick much but feeling down or experiencing anxiety is a sort of common side effect, I read on other fora ) Any tips? Which bio worked for you without too much colds and flus? Artemie

Well Fred always says that he is doing very well on Cosentyx. Without that flu type things.
I also observed that others who use it are doing very well on it. Your connection to genetic preoccupation is weak, so the cause of your Psoriasis may lie outside of genetic conditions. |
