I think a visit to the dermatologist is a good idea Jim, and now a couple more weeks on since you joined and 10 weeks into the humira treatment, and now it seems to be getting worse ....I would ask about the possibility of perhaps switching to another biological drug as others will target different cells and may be more effective...

I have never been on humira but is does begin to sound as if it's not helping much if at all, I hope you get some answers for your dad ....I have put a link to this thread in this months newsletter so hopefully you may get more answers

Yes I'm with Jim it could be worth asking to switch to another Bio. Humira works very well on some people but the TNF Bio's such as Humira are not going to work for everyone, so it could be worth asking about Stelara, Cosentyx or Taltz.

As for moisturiser: I'm a big fan of Virgin Coconut Oil (buy a good one as cheap won't help) or instead of Olive Oil I would suggest a try at a 50/50 mix of Olive oil and Peanut oil. I found the mix better than plane Olive oil. But we are all different.

But talk to the dermatologist and ask about switching from a TNF Bio to an Interleukin. Some do well on one and some do well on the other.

Thanks Jim! I've looked on the forum and a couple sites on google, there have been cases where Humira did cause a side effect resulting in the scalp so will be scheduling a doctors visit this week.

Thanks Fred! I placed the order for the extra virgin oil a couple days back so just waiting on that. I've looked at the biological treatments link when I joined so I was going to see what the dermatologist recommends this week and bringing it up.

Thanks!
