Hey Guys ... totally found you by accident today.  This morning I did my second loading dose of Cosentyx and I was googling info on how long it took for people to see results and found this board.

My psoriasis started in my teens and I've had a pretty nasty go with it.  I developed PsA in my early 30's and was slammed so badly, I thought my life would be lived in agony from a wheelchair.  At that point, I was put on MTX and did infusions for close to a decade, I moved to Simponi and that was ok, but my body got used to it.  Apremilast (Otezla) does less than zero for both my skin and joints, and last Monday I did my first loading dose of Consentyx.  This morning was my 2nd loading dose (I'm doing 300 mg.).

Popped on here before for the first time and started looking around to see how this has worked for people.  I think my skin is actually reacting already. My joints are still abominable - my coccyx, at the base of my spine is a painful mess. 

Can't wait for some relief!  Will let you all know how I do.  I didn't take pics last week, but I think I'll start doing that and posting.

Welcome to Psoriasisclub, the most extra ordinary club on the web.
Very nice that you have found us, we are a friendly bunch of psoriasis sufferers.

There is some very positive experience on the board on Cosentyx, Fred is using it, and he will come on line as soon as he is awake, but he can be late in the mornings. Anyway it is still night at your side of the ocean, so you will find it when you wake up.

It is very good to create your own Journal, inclusive pictures on how you are doing. It gives you very much overview later on.
We have possibilities to include pictures in a post, Jim will show you how.

We also have an off topic section, where we do play around a bit with all kinds of non psoriasis related subjects, a really fun section that is.

Make yourself comfortable with us and enjoy yourself.

Hi Julie and a big to the forum ...I'm glad you found us, you will find we are a very active club, with members sharing their experiences in a friendly environment. There is a great wealth of knowledge to be found here and members are happy to answer any questions you may have ....Fred has amassed a great amount of literature about the disease and it's treatment plus current news about the latest drugs

It sounds as if you have had a rough time with the psoriatic arthritis and have been almost crippled with the pain, it's good to read that methotrexate did so well for you over a long period, but now you have started Cosentyx, it's a great drug and we hear many good reports on how well it works

I hope it has the same result for you, it sounds as if your skin is already responding, I hope that the arthritis begins to ease soon

You say you are thinking of posting pictures of your progress, that's a great idea, we have a tutorial which will show how whether you are on a PC or a tablet/ iPad here [Group Specific]

Yes I have recently move on to Cosentyx after 6+ years on Stelara and it's amazing. You can find my thread here Cosentyx for psoriatic arthritis Fred's journey

I also recommend you start a thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis as it will help you keep track of your journey and your input could help others.

Also if you put Cosentyx in Search you will find a vast amount of information.

Welcome Julie , you have found probably the most information on P and PsA that exists , young Fred has done a fantastic job and you can read anything on here knowing that there is nobody trying to con you with treatments that for X amount will cure everything you have wrong with you including the black death, just in case!! .
Have a good look around and ask any questions you want as you will get answers from people who have the problem not heath professionals reading from books.
I am very interested in how you are going on with Cosentyx as I am on Stelara at the moment but I am going on to Cosentyx the next time I inject so I will keep a good look out for your posts .
The thing to bare in mind is that what works for one does not necessarily work for another and that goes for the side effects as well.
Have a good look around and you will find all the inmates friendly if a bit barmy, some of us do have to be sensible though.
