I think mtx iis potentially worse for the body than narrow band uvb.

No MTX gets a bad press and is not as bad as people make it out, I would rather take MTX than some of the other treatments that are being taking .

You really need to learn about nb uvb. Used correctly it is almost risk free, while the narrow band is exactly what is best for Ps. This is not the same as the one at the hospital, which is  uvA.

If your Ps responds to nb uvb, it is drug free, and very effective. MTX on the otherhand is a big time drug with big time risks.

I don't want to stop you two talking about the good and bad points of a treatment, in fact we encourage members to share. But please remember that this thread was from one of our new members asking for advice about Genital Psoriasis.

You're both welcome to start a new thread if you wish about Methotrexate or UVB. But I'll remind others about the original question in this thread in the hope it may bring more answers relevant to the question.

Tea Tree oil, coconut oil, hydrocortisone, steroid creams, etc. I’ve been getting the Xtracs laser treatment for at least four months and no major changes. I have huge flare ups and it even bleeds and crust over. My Xtracs technician thought it could be infected most recently.  It is very painful and embarrassing when you are trying to be intimate.  I’ve been using the condom idea also (filling it up with ointment). Any thoughts? Anyone else used the Xtracs laser and had any luck? Anybody have any luck with anything working???

I am good. I just did not want the original poster to get misinformation about narrow band UVB.

I agree we don't want misinformation, but I could see this thread going Off Topic so I stepped in. It's not just you and Dave it happens a lot and I'm the one who has to split the threads up if they do go off topic.

Sorry Fred but my previous post was about the laser that was used which is a UV based process and trying to answer what else was available but slipped abit off topic.

No harm done Dave, I thought I would step in before it went to far off topic.

The laser UV process ,as far as I am aware, is not used in UK , is it something that is a standard procedure where you live Simon.

Thanks everyone for all the tips.  I guess I will try and see about the biologic.  The laser we thought was working.  But I had a huge flare up that actually crusted over and it's so painful.  I've been using the condom trick with creams and stuff and also have been cleansing toxins from the gut. It SUCKS!!!! Hurts to do anything sexually!
